1) Heads Up Display - every car should have this!

2) Outside temp on display at all times.

3) Stereo system that is easily modified/replaced.

4) Spare tire (man I hope I never have a need for that in the G8)

5) Auto dimming rear view mirror (even if I added it after the fact).

6) Fold flat front seat and 60/40 split folding rear seat. Gave me a mini SUV from a cargo capacity stand point.

7) A satisfying burble at idle - the G8 is soooooo quiet and I give kudos to GM for that, but I'd rather have a bit more growl from the stock exhaust.

8) Tranny temp gauge

9) Engine hours gauge

10) Able to see oil life as a percentage of remaining oil life and ability to reset through the trip computer.

That's really about it.

I miss the HUD in my 2000 GP GTP, the stereo/six speed stick/fuel economy in my 2003 Vibe GT and I don't miss anything about my 2006 G6 GTP (except maybe the coffee at the dealership, since I was in there all the time with that lemon)

2. Pickup bed for my quad
3. Ground clearance
4. Just having a truck

That's why I kept the truck for my daily driver / crap weather driver, and drive the G8 on road trips and fair weather.

Got to have a truck.

Previous car: 2002 VW Passat GLX Wagon 6 cyl.

1. the "wagon" part (I used it like a truck and could haul my dogs in it, they don't see the inside of my G8 GT)

2. the location of the cup holders (much more comfortable)

3. the stereo (definitely better)

4. No blind spots

5. Cops didn't look twice at me (thought I was a soccer mom, lmao)

6. The AC was much better...blew colder, faster, and stronger

7. It had a spare tire

Wow, a lot of truck owners it appear switched over and Grand Prix owners (not surprised about the Grand Prix). I must fit the demographic formerly owning an Avalanche Z71 (got mine in 2001, was one of the first kids on the block, and dealt with all the early adopter issues) and then traded to the Grand Prix when my lifestyle changed. Sitting in 19-1/2 feet and 6,000 pounds of Mexican metal to drive solo 54 miles round trip a day to to work just didn't make sense.

Still - there are times I miss my Avalanche. Especially at the drive-in movie theater and I'm sure when it snows. The ability to go "car camping" with 45 cubic feet of dry storage meant you can bring almost every luxury from home with you, carry five in comfort and have room to spare, AND drive at 80 MPH all day long without an issue while eeking out 17 MPG if I was lucky.

I don't miss 17 MPG! My G8 gets 17 MPG city on a bad day, very happy with that !

I've been driving cars for 20 years now, your don't need a truck if you need to haul something. I have a small utility trailer to carry my dirt bikes and anything else that doesn't fit in my car. I put some all season Eagle GT's on it and it goes thru the snow very well. The good thing about a car is they haul azz!

Very easy to add the auto dimming mirror - just need to find one on eBay out of a wreck, I guess the '07 Chevy Trailblazer / GMC Envoy mirrors have all of our features (Air Bag Status, OnStar, Compass) AND auto dimming. Just need to keep your eyes open, people who have done it are saying it is just plug and play.

-Auto dimming mirror (Will fix this sooner or later)
-The green tint the side mirrors had which really helped at night.
-Heated side mirror.
-The supercharger whine, it just sounds cool.

I miss my beautiful 99 GTP Forrest Green Metallic coupe :(. She had a nice SLP hood with the slp exhaust, very nice sound, and man when i put the pedal down and the supercharger hit hard, my ass was in the back seat. And oh the tan leather, and my heads up display, it was so great. Should've never turned it in for the garbage money they gave me.

Edit: Also my tint was perfect (Yet to get the g8 tinted), and my yankees symbol that my girlfriend got for me on my driver side back corner window.

1. Memory seating.

I miss this too.

2. Auto dimming rear view mirror.

I don't really car about this.

3. Navigation

I wanted a car without it, though I'll be upgrading my G8 to have a built in Nav now anyway. Go figure. :)

4. Fully electric seats.

I dislike the wheel seat angle adjust, but I HATE an electric seat angle adjust! They take WAY too long. I rather have a lever release.

with the auto dimming mirror would tinting the car help, I usually don't use the mirror only when I see blue and red lights flashing!

Another thing I thought of while driving towards the sun at an angle yesterday afternoon.

Dual visors so I can block the sun from the front and the side at the same time and not be constantly flipping the visor back and forth.
