Your liscense plate must buzz like crazy because I don't have near the setup you do and it hops and jumps on the back of my car.

It is a very nice setup though. What did you use to cover your box? Love the LEDs. Nice touch.

The plate rattle is pretty easy to fix....I glued closed cell foam to the back of the plate and made a subtle bend in the plate...Rattle fixed...

Now the rear view mirror so far is a lost cause. It absolutely will not stay pointing up....

Nah---A few strips of foam tape on the back the liscense tag does wonders

The rest of the trunk is dynamatted(sp)

The box is covered in black vinyl.

I started to go with Alpine Type X's like I have in my black truck, but decided to go with the look of the rockfords. I've had T1 & T2's in previous installs withou any problem at all. Don't get me started on the P-series. I think all of it is junk

I beg to differ. I run P312D4's. Now I would agree that the earlier versions were junk. But 2008-2009 version are a completely different monster.

I have ran T115D4's in a competition setup and was able to pull 150's in the kick. But I like the sound of these P3's, plus I only run about 1200 watts.

Not trying to piss anyone off--as the newer p-series may be better, but i have toasted 4 of the P3s in my old blazer---they were seeing rated power--nothing above or below.

What you measure on a dB meter is less than half of the story, unless you do dB Drag. I can name you a dozen brands that will be louder AND sound better.

I have a simple question for those of us looking for simple inexpensive change from factory subs and going with free air vs box. I have read on several other posts and I believe you guys were the experts explaining 2 ohm vs 4 ohm and parallel wiring. My question: How much difference is there going to be using stock amp (for the time being) and getting 2 ohm dual voice coil wired exactly like factory set up or 4 ohm dual voice coil wired parallel. Or even 2 ohm single voice coils. Good Sound vs cost and complications. I have heard several members putting in Kicker CVR8 2 ohm and 4 ohm for good free air replacement subs for factory amp. You guys are the gurus, your opinions would be greatly appreciated. I want a decent sub that could have a higher powered amp added later with out installing a boxed inclosure. And not spending $600-$1000+

More important than impedance is the sensitivity of the speaker. Please don't touch Kicker, though. If you want some good 8" drivers for a rear shelf and don't mind a 4 ohm impedance, Peerless SLS is good stuff. But it's still not that sensitive and would be best with a good amp. Most 8" subwoofers are low sensitivity, though.
