I am finding the inside of my windows in my G8 keep getting a film. No one has ever smoked in the vehicle. This is not true of my other cars. I buy a special glass cleaner from Advance Auto. Just curious has anyone else had the same problem and what cleaners work best without streaking. Thanks

Shouldn't this be in the Detailing and Appearance Section?
To answer the question, i just use windex auto glass usually and it works great inside and out for me. Either that or i use the glass cleaner that the dealership gave me when i got my previous g6. Some off brand stuff, but works like a charm.

It's the leather off gassing... It's pretty normal.
I use Adams products with his window micro fiber towel. Works the bee's knees! No ammonia to ruin the tint. He uses a special scrubber blend in his. His new stuff even has a bit of Detail Spray in it to get a higher shine.

yeah you might be surprised about the stuff that's coming from all of the news materials in the interior. There's a couple of links to follow for some interesting info:

+ 1 Adams glass cleaner and a MF towel are the way to go.

Perhaps you missed the post where we discussed the somewhat interesting results of having seats made from kangaroos leather. If you happen to have a horny male 'roo on one seat and a female in estrus on the other, be glad that's all you have on your windows.

If you have a tint then use Windex Interior instead of regular Windex (which has ammonia that may damage your tint on repeated use).
The far left side and far right side of my windshield is doing the same thing. I think it's coming from my window shade. It never did that until I got my shade.

Adams makes a good glass cleaner. Try it out.
I've tried using the auto zone/advanced auto glass cleaners before and they didn't work really well for me. They would leave a ton of streaks on the windows.
I've been using this stuff a local window cleaning company sells that is absolutely amazing. Leaves no streaks and makes the glass look great. It comes in a spray can and is only $3 for can of it.
I'd definately go with the Adams stuff though. They make a great detailer spray also that you can clean the paint and windows with too.

Just placed an order with Adams today after spending all morning detailing car, still have streaky windows. Thanks for the advice should have ordered sooner.
Glass Plus is ammonia free and works well for a lot of things.
Just finished cleaning my windows and I also noticed this film. I used Windex and microfiber cloths to clean it.

I started using the "Rain-X" glass cleaner and it is a step above the others. (This is the stuff in the CLEAR bottle , not the yellow one that says it has the rain repellent in it. I usually cut the nasty film off of the glass with a first coat of cleaner and paper towels. I then follow it up with a second cleaning and use a very soft regualr towel from the bathroom variety. That takes the smears and the film away.
I even use a set of "Geeky" windshield sun shades to keep the sun from working on the dash and interior components any more than needed.
