View Full Version : Going to the dragstrip tonite, how do you get the back seat out?

Trying to get into the 12's, going to try everything to help. Anyone know how to get the back seat out. Bottom first, or back first...and exactly how do you do it so I won't screw anything up...like I usually do.

I have a feeling its a pain in the ass. But seriously man, just keep them in, its a street car after all. Run the car in the form its driven on the street. I highly doubt removing the rear seats is going to give you much of an advantage, maaaaybe .12 at the very most.

Maybe a .012 if that. No way you're gonna get over a tenth by removing that seat.

weighs probably 20 pounds if that
pull up on the front lip pretty hard and the lower section will come off, and then i think its like 6 bolts to take the back supports off

okay, you talked me into it...I'll leave it in and deduct .12...is that fair? I already cleaned out the glovebox...just kidding!

100lbs = .10 (rule of thumb, give or take a few pounds and/or .01)


Take a big crap, wear light shoes, empty your pockets. You'll get the same effect.

That seat hardly weighs anything, it's leather covered foam, no structure.

Try and keep it at a 1/4 tank on fuel to save weight

I still don't have any DRs yet, I want to sell my snows/wheels and use the proceeds/garage space for them.

13.29/2.08/I forget the mph, timeslip is over there in the car's glovebox and I'm just too lazy to go get it!
Last weekend I put gas in it thinking I'd run it all out before Saturday. Wrong. I raced with half a tank. How much time did that cost me?

What are the mods? I think a gallon of gas is like 8-10lbs. EVery 100lbs is a tenth supposedly so .08?
