Guess I should start this by saying I don't street race, and I wasn't trying to get into one.

Happened to line up with a newish Honda sport bike at the light, about 10 minutes ago, on my way home. He was revving his engine and wanted to go, so why not. We both rolled into the intersection, then went hammer down.

To my excitement, I had put a half a car on him right off the bat, and held it until I let off at 90. Then he passed of course. He did have his girlfriend on the back (90 pounds), but it was still fun to pull ahead of a sport bike, and continue to be ahead until letting off, in a 4 thousand pound 4 door.

Most bikes should be able to take our cars out easy, I ride an R1 and that thing is out of this world fast. She must have had a kung fu grib on his nuts so he didnt throw her off the back trying to catch up.

Well, I wouldn't say easy.

I figure the passenger weighted him down, but have no doubt, he was giving all he had.

I wish I could have seen the size, all I saw was Honda Performance and Yellow with Purple panels.

He's probably on some Honda forum saying he beat a G8GT at 95 mph....roflmao

not for me:hang:. my buddys bone stock brand new 600 gixxer does low 7s in the 1/8... although he is a pretty damn good rider too. most others do about what i run, but with a little better mph

No way a GT is going to hang with a properly ridden 600.

Yup. They run in the low elevens.

Heck, even a Harley FXD does high 4's 0-60 and a low thirteen Q-M.

Anyone who thinks a car of our calibre can hang with any modern sportbike is either delusional or has never ridden a modern sportbike...

I will admit an r6 is a little bit of a turd of the line if you do not flog it, but if you do... then it shines...

Any of the other 600s are even easier to launch and have a harder hit down low...

Definately do not try to run from a roll... at any speed below 70 you can still downshift to first... the 600s need back into second around 85 the liters will pull their front wheel of the ground shifting into second at 95...

Thing is you generally run into squids who do not know what the hell they are doing and just try to roll on in 6th gear... most bikes do not start to make steam until around 5K at least (exception being the ducatis and similar and the daytona 675), so they just do not accelerate.

Just about all bikes are limited to 186 MPH/300 KPH

Oh and Yes I have had girls ask me to wrap it around whilst on the back of the bike... they usualy cry uncle around 150 though...

My 06 R6 doesn't really start to come on until around 12.5K indicated.. at 14K, she REALLY starts getting going! :)

The 06 & 07 r6 have the worst torque band in vehicle history... they are crying out for a 2 up 1 down... they fixed it for 08.

Also the 06 has a wildly optimistic tach.

For sure the 06 tach is reading at least 1K higher than indicated... that's why I said indicated on my post. It does still redline at ~16,200 though. And that motor in there is amazing... no torque, but once it gets up in the RPM range, it will run down some bigger bikes.

I pulled a dude on his 750 going up the front straight at Road America a couple of years ago. Of course, I had the draft, but the top end rush on that bike is really cool.

He did have a passenger, so I'm not 100% sure he was full throttle.

I would think he was FT, since he was the one instigating the run.

Either "A" he wasnt racing or "B" he was the worlds worst bike rider. There is no way in hell a G8 especially one not boosted or juicing is going to beat even a 600cc bike off the line let alone hold car lengths on it.

The only 600cc Sports bikes that I can see a G8 beating would be one of the Chinese LILAN junkers or similar that have 50s tech engines.

A. Had passenger on bike
B. He tried to pass me, and couldn't.
C. Refer to A

This is just one of those discussions lol. I found myself pleasantly surprised one day by a big block 67 Camaro when I was on my Honda Valkrie (6 cylinder beast and fully modded), only to get spanked not once but two times. I've been riding dirt since I was three and street at 15, and Pro Bike dragging for a couple years. I was floored at the Camaro and he pulled off so we could chat a bit. Very few sport bikes are low-end torque monsters, and it is possible to get them from a standing start. I've humbled a few on my Street Glide (through the first two gears). Could he have pulled that from a roll....no way.
