A couple of weeks ago I participated in my first track event. To get the car ready, I went to one of the local speed shops and had my front pads changed out to Hawk HPS, bled the brakes and replaced the fluid with ATE Superblue. I was thinking that when trying an emergency stop from about 60 to 0, the ABS would kick in before I made the changes. Now when I try it in a parking lot, the ABS doesn’t kick in. When I was at the track, the ABS didn’t kick in either but I figured that was brake fade or I wasn’t braking to a complete stop. The pedal was as I far as I could push it several times. I recorded some laps with the DashHawk and it showed speeds of 35 to 40 at the lowest when entering the corners. Top speeds were about 105.
I don’t have any dash lights on or any error codes that the DashHawk can pick up. Do you guys think there might be something wrong or is just a characteristic of the new pads?
