Cam, lifters, cam gear, chain tensioner "new style", lifter buckets, valley cover. ARP head bolts and 7.4in hardened pushrods Courtesy of Livernois Motorsports will be here this week. All I really need now is gaskets and make a decision on the heads.

Charlie,

I think our mutual buddy Paul (SS Enforcer), who has been invited but hasn't shown up here yet, has these heads on his VE SS.

I already ran 12.70 @ 107.9 without headers and in hot weather. I will be looking for the 11s Mario.

Damn was I off! You sir are the man! :worthy: I see people at my local car show pullin up with modded out chevell's and old GTO's roaring by and people leaning in telling me "that thing is freakin fast! It runs 11's!!! So enthusiastic like they just accomplished the ultimate goal of the world. Now I can say my i know a guy with my car that got it into the 11's with some work. no big deal lol

Psst! If your cam is much bigger than mine, (Do you suffer from Cam envy? :) ), definately upgrade your brakes! ;) :tigger:

No, I think my cam is smaller, but should make at least the same power.

Heads and all huh? You are sure spending a butt load on this thing. Should be fun as hell but isn't it your wife's daily driver too?

GRRRR8
09-09-2008, 04:41 AM
She does not want to leave it anywhere anymore. She likes the truck I bought and since it has exhaust already, I may do a lightning conversion body kit on it and some 20s to kick it up a notch!

Brake issues Jay? Is just because your car now needs to be hauled down from faster speeds or is it a vacuum issue? I wouldn't have thought these cams would create vacuum issues??

Something like this maybe if it is vacuum:

What cam did you get? I was thinking about a cam but a smaller one than manofsteel has because This is my daily driver and I'm going to be driving this in snow. And a big cam is going to totally kill the winter driving.

LS3 Hot cam. Once its done I will post all the details. It should be a smooth idle with a deeper tone. With all my mods and some head work it should be around 435-450 to the wheels.

Cam, lifters, cam gear, chain tensioner "new style", lifter buckets, valley cover. ARP head bolts and 7.4 in hardened pushrods...

And top it all off with the perfect finishing touch - stock springs and rocker arms???

Or am I missing something here?

GRRRR8
09-09-2008, 12:30 PM
The springs will be done with the heads and the rockers are fine until you go way crazier then I am!

Charlie, I'd like to think I was, in some way, influential in your decision to check out Livernois, (see the "Anouncement!" post.) If I wasn't you can just lie to me so as not to hurt my feelings. anyway Andy, Dan and all the guys at Livernois were awsome to work with. I Look forward to doing business with them again.

I can relate, I work in a dealership service dept. we have some women there, that even when they get going it'll make a trucker blush. all in good fun. I was hangin' around your shop for about 4 1/2 hrs when my car was being tuned. Listening to you guys, thinking to myself i'd fit right in. Makes the day go faster.

which car???

Cliffy
09-11-2008, 05:53 PM
which car???

I brought up one of my "customers" car. I had the black 2007 CTS-V with a cheater cam, CAI and a GMPP exhaust, made 379 hp at the rear wheels, not to shabby for a cam only. Brought it up from Toledo back in June or July.
