No easy way. Back seat comes out easily but weighs practically nothing.

We could all probably eat healthier and exercise more.

The weight of all the safety stuff adds up. I don't think there is an easy way to get a noticeable amount of weight off of these pigs.

Yeah, I agree, all these airbags (plus support equipment) actually weigh quite a bit. Not many people understand that.

But yes, you could strip the entire interior to save weight, but why would you be buying a G8 in the first place if that is what you would be doing?

I stripped away all numbers and letters on the tail and sides of the car. I saved .0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 000000000000000000000000000001 pounds. Next I'm going to delete all body hair. That should really get me going faster!

center caps and a few lug nuts should shave some extra weight as well!

How about these:

• Remove the passenger side windshield wiper arm and blade. The driver side is so big you don't need the other one.
• Replace the stock mufflers with bullet glass packs. That could save about 200 lbs.
• Do the hood vent mod and leave the rubber off. Several grams there. :zing:

Obviously there is no need for me to add my smart-ass comment to this post.

This is the most effective weightloss, and lighter wheels can make up to 10 lbs per wheel difference. While this is only 40 lbs max, it's perceptable in suspension movement and off-line performance. Lighter tires can help a lot, so all else being equal, buy the lighter ones.

Or you could just run open headers. That should save even more weight.:nah:

Going aftermarket exhaust, especially LTs and straight pipes, is probably the most effective way to cut weight next to lighter wheels.

Remove the spare wheel & tools. I didn't weigh it, but the full-size wheel feels like it's about 50lbs, then there's the jack too.

Please note that this only works if:
a) Your not planning to go far from home
b) Your cellphone battery is charged
c) You have someone to call that can bring the spare to you!

You can also keep a bottle of "Tyre-weld" or similar in the car for emergencies.

Someone is making titanium exhaust parts for Porsches. Why not us? Lug bolts too. Ceramic brake rotors from Corvette Z06 are really light. Oh, I know.......
a Titanium ceramic carbon fiber Bra for our girl friend / wives. lol

I went with Pedders Xa's and was surprised by the difference in weight between the OEM struts and the Xa's. I would say 5-8 lbs per struts?? Remember that is part of the unsprung weight.
Also for performance, reducing the weight of the wheels thus affecting the rotational inertia of the wheel has an effect on acceleration. If my college years have served a purpose, I would venture to say that the effect is squared. So a lot of bank for your buck when you reduce wheel rotational inertia for improved acceleration.

Every bit counts...
