That too-large Stihl chainsaw that I just had to have after the last hurricane scratched the ASPARAGUS PISS!!! hood on my G8 this afternoon. Why I bought one that big I'll never know (can I get a Tim Allen gorilla grunt here?), it's way more saw than I'll ever need (MS 460), and it YEAST INFECTION!!! works me like a rented mule. Anyway, after it whipped my ass this afternoon I was putting it back on the far side of the G8 in the garage and like an idiot I swung it over the hood...I was tired and I didn't lift it far RECTAL WARTS!!! enough and I felt the chain drag against the hood. It's deep, real deep and about two inches long.

Made me sick to my stomach.

What are my options? I don't want to repaint the hood for just one scratch. Aren't there some scratch and dent repair businesses out there that can handle this? I bet those guys on Livin' the Low Life or Street Rods could fix it where you wouldn't even know it. On top of everything SCROTUM RASH!!! else I think I got poison ivy, too.

Signed,
Despondent in Snuff Gully

I worked with a guy that had Tourette's. When ever he had a fit he would move his right leg like a bull about to charge. He also use to spell his pay check every Friday

How bad are the scratches ?

Just one, I can see white in it, and it will catch your fingernail when you scratch across it. I'm just sick...on the hood of all places. I know, kids are starving in Darfur and I'm worried about a little scratch.

If you get put your finger nail in it you mostly like won't be able to buff it out. Take it to a reputable body shop and see what they suggest.

Sounds like a re-paint of the entire hood. Sorry to hear.

meaning it is through the clear coat?
Take a pic if your camera hand is steady enough. I'll ask my body guy.

OOOUUUUCCCHHH! In the future remember to let some air out of the tires. This will lower the car and give the chainsaw clearence.BTW how long is the scratch? There are some products that might help to improve it w/o repainting the entire hood. My problem here is my neighbor's cat. My solution is for you to send me your chainsaw. Problem would be solved quickly and painless (at least for me, not sure for the cat)

if you can see white then it is through mor than the clear... fortunately repainting does not cost THAT much...

Quite right old Chum. How can one doubt these claims? I am sure that this Gentlemen would only represent and endorse only products that work. HHHHMMM, need to order that Tornado gizmo for my air intake. Another possible fix might be to apply the competion/racing stripes to cover the scratch. Cheaper than repainting and breaking the factory paint job.

If the scratch is convenienty positioned it might be time for a vinyl stripe kit, eh? :p

It appears that Tony K and Panzer Leader have rightly concluded that irreverent, shameless and totally irresponsible posts are much more fun than being even remotely serious. One should never take life seriosly! After all, it's not gonna be there for you when you really need it a few centuries down the road. :p

Keep up the great work guys, you make a bird proud! Even though it is widely known that I, myself, do not condone this childish behavior.

Have you seen the show on Discovery Channel where these 2 guys shamelessly promote a few new products? I only mention it because I travel way too much and once you've seen every single porno flick on the motel network, all that's left is Discovery. Long live Mythbusters!...... Man! That redheaded gal on there is soooooo HOT!

There was a great one on te other night where they were using a Firebird to do burnouts to see if the tire would catch fire, Great fun really

Actually Tony, the way things work around her sometimes maybe it's time for a whole front end conversion, Lets get Paul involved, price up some fenders a new bumper and a new hood. Why fix it when you could just replace it.:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

We'll get rid of that nasty scratch yet!

Hey Penguin, I need to be, I own a G8! The only car that needs its suspension rebuilt after 2400 miles. Now you really have to find that funny.

"Now you really have to find that funny." Indeed, I do. Having owned, kind of, 2 G8 GT's in one year with a total combined mileage of 13,000 without a single problem (if you discount the total loss of the '08) I must conclude that perhaps weight might be a factor. Penguins, as you know are very light weight, thus causing little stress to the cars components(if you discount the total loss of the '08) I must concur that drivers who have such sad dificulties must be, or carry large numbers of "lard-assed" passengers.

This is an uneducated guess naturally, and may not be based in fact or anything else at all. :p

Sadly, penguins are also notoriously suspicious. :)

By now some of you may have concluded that penguin is badly confused or delusional.

In truth, this is a fun game that I play on many forums(or would if I visited any other forums, which I never do) called "match the post with the reply and win a prize".

Why fix it when you could just replace it. :woohoo:

This is the approved method of repair for all G8's. It is HIGHLY approved by all of the forum vendors! :p

R. Penguin, I never take offense at anything said on the forum. You roll the dice and take your chances.

NEVER, I MEAN NEVER read a thread that involves a Penguin and drink at the same time. It will never end up well for your computer.

Zeibart TidyCar is who most of the dealers use in our area when they have one they need to hide. Gonna check them out next trip into civilization. I've used up this years allocation of cuss words already.
