I know this is like spitting in the face of GM and this board, but I just wanted to see what everyone take is on the 2003 Mustang Cobra (Terminator)? My local Pontiac dealership had one traded in on an 2010 Camaro. Its the 10th Anniversary Edition with only 8000 miles, bone stock and not a scratch on her and original tires! I am pretty much convinced that I want it just want to see everyone's opinion, that and it was a 70 year old guy so I can be pretty confident that he wasn't too hard on her in those 8000 miles. The dealership only wants $20,000 which I think is a pretty good price, considering I can't find too many under 25 with 50,000+ miles. I guess the only problem is that it is Red just not too fond of Red (I know that will anger at least one person Charlie :nah:)

I have a soft spot in my heart for those cars. Love the engine but not much else about the car. I got a ride in my buddies 03 Cobra with the basic pulley/intake/catback/tune (465rwhp) and the supercharger whine is addicting. 20k isn't a bad price if it's super clean however the prices are falling due to the GT500.

You can't go wrong with that built bottom end in the 03 Cobras. The IRS has been problems in those cars but the motor is stout!

What everyone else said. 03-04 cobra ARE terminators. I raced one with the pulley, exhaust and tune when I had all my current mods, he let me go ahead then blew by me like I was standing still. Those things are BAD! A few simple mods your in the 11's easy. A few more and your in the 10's. Gotta love em.

I'm a huge fan of the 03-04' Cobras, I currently own my second one. They have a ton of potential and that sounds like a steal for that car.

Here is my 9k miles '03.

The '03 Cobra is a bad-a$$ car for sure. But $20k is not a steal. It's just a fair price.

8000 miles for only 20K? I would jump on that in a heartbeat. Had I found one with that mileage for that price, I probaly wouldn't have the G8.

Its a mustang, it looks like every other mustang out there except it has a snake on it. While I agree they are quick and easily modded to be to be quicker its still rides like a covered wagon......thats fast.

20k for a 6.5 year old Mustang? Pass. :mullet:

You should really do more research on what a 10th Annv "covered wagon" w/ low miles is pulling in these days. $20k is like getting a GXP NEW for under $30k

Actually, with the IRS they ride really good and handle well also. :)

I think the 10th anny wheels are much better than the stocker Cobras that usually come on em. Now the Saleen wheels are just pure sex!!! :)

How did it go?

I'm interested in reading your reaction to the test drive. I LOVED the power of the car but the ergonomics (shifter position) sucked balls. I'm not a big guy but I felt cramped a little in the car. If I didn't have my daughter I'd probably still have the Cobra and it would have 600+ rwhp by now.

Well I ended up not getting the car for 2 reasons, first the threat of my girlfriend (who I intend to marry) that she would break up with me because I wasn't being responsible with my money and that already having 2 vehicles for one person was bad enough 3 would have been ludicrous. The only reason I have to listen to that request is that me being a farmer I don't make the big bucks and since she is going to be in medical school in a year or so to become a doctor I kind of need to keep her around. Ill quote a line from Big Daddy "she can be my suga momma!". The second reason is that I didn't fit comfortably in the car at all (I am 6'2 220)!! The seat didn't move back far enough, the shifter was basically in the engine bay it was so far away and not enough headroom. I guess coming from a G8 and other roomy sedan's spoiled me. Now let me get to the part that almost made me forget all of the above, the power/handing(suprised me)/the preciseness of the shifter. It felt as if it was making full power throughout the whole RPM band. I mean stomping on it and going through the gears it wasn't long before I was at 130 in 4th! I realized why they said launching these car's was tricky, to low on the RPM's and you bog too high and good bye rubber! I do know that it being stock and what I have done to my G8, the Cobra would still have blown my doors off. To end, I do know I will probably regret not purchasing it (that Eaton whine got addicting!) but now I know I can take that money I was saving for a weekend coupe and put it in the G8!!
