View Full Version : GXP brakes on my GT-photos

***EDIT*** 5/26** According to the Brake Kit web page at Pace Performance, the ONLY OEM G8 wheels that will accept the GXP front brakes are the GXP wheels. The 18" V6 and GT and 19" Sport Package wheels will not fit.


I think I want to paint the rotor hub black. I thought i might paint the calipers red but everybody has red and I kinda like the silver finish.

Nice! Looks really good, I bet the performance matches the looks. I think you got a good combo with the Black/Silver going, red would look good, but I think it being silver is just right.

Thanks. I aprciate it. I think I will paint the rotor hub black and leave the rest alone. Maybe I can find a silver like the Brembos and paint my rear calipers.

Great job Ed. The silver gos well with your car so I would not paint them.

I plan on leaving the calipers silver but the silver hub in the front doesn't match the dark hub in the rear, plus I think a dark hub would look better with the wheel.

Did you stick with the OEM brake pads? Prepare for a LOT of brake dust. But you'll enjoy much better brakes... :)

Thanks BJ. I thought it would look better but was very pleased with how much better it looked. I like the silver calipers with the way my car is set-up. Thanks for the support.

How is the braking performance? Noticeably different?
Braking feels good. I think it has better initial bite than stock and they feel a little firmer. I did put on SS lines so it is hard to tell what accounted for what.

Good on the brakes...and gotta say that the wheels don't do it for me either. The lack of visibility of the rim just seems strange...like the spokes are just sticking out there. Anyway, they are YOURS and if you like them, good deal. I know that the brakes are great and hope to be able to work them in on my car.
