What is the best way to break in a new set of pads and rotors?

3 stops from 30 to 0 light pressure. 3 stops from 40 to 0 medium pressure. 3 stops 50 to 0 heavy pressure. Cruise 1 mile without touching brakes. Take home and let sit until brakes are cool to the touch (2-3 hours) and you are good to go.

Have you already changed out the pads? If so, any tips or gotchas?

Pretty easy Tom. Do 1 wheel at a time and use the old pad and a c clamp to press the pistons in.

I'm going to be doing the lines at the same time. Just trying to make sure I've got my shit together, seems a lot of places I could hose it up. Haven't done brakes on anything in about 10 years....

I guess my biggest worry is doing this in the right order.

Change the lines
Bleed
Change the pads

or

Change the pads
Change the lines
Bleed

??

Replace the pads, replace the hoses, and bleed. This process can be done 1 wheel at at time and then bleed the system.

OK, clarify one thing please. When you say "bleed the system", if I bleed each wheel as I do it I'm done, no? There isn't something that has to be bled other than each wheel is there?

Thanks guys. This weekend I'm installing GXP front brakes and SS lines. The only part I have concerns about are the lines and hoping they come apart easily at the chassis end. Any tips or suggestions?

They will easily come apart. You may spray the fitting before starting with a penetrant to assist if you see rust.

Sounds like something even I could do.
