Hey all,

So I was washing my car last night... The car was still warm but not hot. I sprayed off the front and into the grills to get the radiator and I heard this high pitched buzzing noise. It was pretty constant and ONLY happened after spraying the front with water. I know this because I had sprayed the front with Seafoam bug remover and it wasn't making the noise.

Anyone ever heard this before? It's my first time and I've washed this car a ton.

I don't know what causes the noise but pretty much everyone gets it. It doesn't have to do with the water. If you turn your car off and wait a few minutes, it will start - every 10-15 seconds you will hear a buzz for a few seconds.

Hell mine did it for several minutes and this was a good 30-45 minutes after shutting it off...

If it's the fans it's not the normal fan sound they weren't turning...

I'd check for something electrical. Maybe the water was causing something to short or a relay to close and the buzzing was from the coil of the relay or solenoid.

Is is a noise like the sound of a printer from the early 90's?

I've heard that on mine as well. I don't know what it is, but the car has been flawless for over 24K miles, so it must not be anything serious.

I've heard the same thing after washing mine, too. Really it wasn't even after washing, because the car was just sitting in the garage and I was using the Quik Detailer stuff on it to get the water marks off.

It freaked me out so much that I opened the hood and tried to look for something moving. I couldn't find anything moving when the sound came on. It really was sorta weird, but everything seems to be normal.
