What about the '08 STS-V

A friend of mine bought a used STS-V with 6,000 miles for about 45K.

How does it compare to the G8 GT? I didn't get a chance to go for a ride as he wanted to ride in mine instead (he liked how it shifted firmer than his and sounded nice and throaty). Is the transmission the same unit?

I think the 08 STS-V got 6L50 version. The new CTS-V has the 6L90. We have 6L80's I believe.

I do know unless your rocking some serious mods that they will be hard to keep up with! There's one here that preys on fbodies, Cobras, and some 'Vettes for lunch. Of course he has the D3 Stg 3 package which laid down 497hp/530tq, so naturally he wins alot of races.

I raced a near stock one a few times in my old TBSS. He consistently ran 13.2-13.3's. Of course always losing to the TBSS. :D

Bring the bolt-ons because if you are near stock it will be a pretty tough race.

Supercharged 4.6 Northstar from the factory. Think they were around 460HP? We have a better drivetrain, but stock for stock, it will be tough.
