So, i was browsing craigslist today and stumbled upon some VERY local Z06 wheels with lightly used mickey thompsons on them for $200!

They are 17" 275 with 54mm offset.

Cant wait to try them out, here are some pics! They are pretty dusty and i havent gotten around to cleaning them up...i'll wash em tomorrrow and take more pics with them on the car. they are some SLICK looking rims!

This

200 each or for the set?

Either way that's either a good deal or a smoking great deal!

yeah, everything seems to fit ok, i didnt get a chance to drive around with them due to the horrible rain here, but i didnt see any clearance issues

And yes, this was an AMAZING deal! $200 for the SET! Thats why i jumped on it right after i saw it on CL.

Roy:

Where did you get them mounted at? And was there anything special that needed to be done?

I'm thinking of just going the GTO rim route too......

well, i went to Test and Tunes at Pacific Raceways last night, and these tires held up like a champ! feels nice to be able to actually hook and keep traction on the 1-2 shift! got a new best, but i still suck at launching. i have yet to get a 60' under 2.000

While I'm no expert try this. Its what I was just taught...... When you roll into the water box come to a stop and spin the tires once. Then pull just past the water box and smoke the tires for 3 to 5 seconds. My best 60ft is only 1.72 but I've only been launching at 1500rpm. As I get better at launching the car I'll try higher rpms.

You also might need a converter.

i thought you were not supposed to spin in the water box because 1. it gets water in your fenders and will drip down on track and 2 because it throws water at the person behind you

Dont stab it in the water hold the brake and let the tires turn around a couple revolutions pull up past edge of water and do burn out, If you just roll thru the water you will have wheel hop where you start your burn out b/c only 1/2 the tire will be wet.

Just a gentle spin. A few revolutions in the water at partial throttle.
