I've got to hear my ride, I'm getting ready to do my first mod to this car and I don't want to regret it. I'm going to be putting on X-pipe and mufflers tommorrow have listened to many sound clips, out of them all I only like the stolen fox. I have flowmasters on my other rides but they seem to have a hollow sound to them which I can't stand.I like that deep bass growl that the foxes and flows have, but I want to do sumthin a lil diff. I have been told that the cherry bomb vortex will probably give me what I'm loking 4 because it really is a flowmaster with a little bit of packing to get rid of that drone I really don't want. would like some opinions and if neone has a link to a cherry bomb sound clip how about sending it to me.:woohoo:

I personally never heard cherry bombs on a G8 nor do I think they would look good from the back of the vehicle. Sound wise, the SF I heard were always Hs not Xs

Stupid ass muffler shop cut my ehaust off b4 they figured out they didn't have flowmasters for it, wound up going with 2 stainless steel magna flow and a custom x pipe i am going to try and post a link to listen to it. let me know whatu think.

MF are great mufflers! I wouldn't be mad a bit. They are proven to be more efficient and have less drone than FM. I have FM on my 4x4 and they are fine but are a bit droney!(not a word)

as far as 1986 cb's go they would :bjob: I've just been hearing alot about the newvortex turbo and wanted to hear it. they actually put one on a dodge truck while I was there. did'nt sound too bad, a little quieter than the fm. :cheers:

So is this a custom job? Custom X-pipe and Magnaflow mufflers.... correct? Who did you go to? In the video it looks like you have dual exhaust, not quad? Just crappy video or am I seeing things? Why didn't you go with the full catback system from Maganflow? I'm a firm believer in, you get what you pay for! I'm still on the fence with the sound your putting out..........either way, I'm sure you like the sound better than stock. BTW, in my opinion, Mangnaflow is a better product than Flowmaster. Good luck on the future mods.

you are correct it is dual, 4x 12 angle cut. do you think the factory quad tips would chage sound that much, for better or worse. also didn't go with kit because i bought 2 of these cars 1 4 me 1 4 wifey and now I'm damn near broke.

Yeah.... different sized mufflers (quad vs dual) are going to put out different sounds/tones. I understand the "damn near broke" aspect. This modding business is addictive. I have the Magnaflow catback #16795 and they sound great...... idle, part throtle and most impressively at WOT! The custom stuff, is not proven, therefore it's possible that your bends, pipes and sound is causing some sound/performance issues. Hopefully you get this resolved soon. Good luck!
