CLS 55 AMG Kill

Was hanging out in the usual spot when we see a mercedes CLS 55 amg pull in. Thing sounded pretty nice. I start my car and he hears it and asks me if I want to run. I tell him no thanks, I got a court date already for a speeding ticket, I can't get stopped again.
Here's were my ridiculous stupidity kicks in. My friend was in the drivers seat of my car, he gave me a drive by, i never get to hear my car from the outside and I like it :) He's the only one I trust driving the car, he's a hard core american muscle guy who knows his stuff.
Basically, we head down to the highway with the amg guy, my friend pops it into sport cuz he's not familiar with the manumatic mode, the amg guy honks and guns it, gets the jump on us, not only because he was honking, but we had the lag on the downshift. The AMG was a stick mind you. We slowly start reeling him in and eventually pass him at around 120. He tells us he was letting of the gas so we go again. This time he doesn't jump us so bad and we pass him a bit easier. We than ask him if he wants to go again. He refused to run us again. He looked a bit upset LOL!
Thank GOD everything turned out good. Aside from beating him lol. Was a good night.

Negative on the CLS55 having a stick. Mercedes doesn't know what a manual transmission is. They do make some pretty badass slushboxes, though.

469hp. They stopped making the 55s after MY06. Then, they switched to the 63s.

I think you may have been racing the supercharged Mercedes. Before their latest upgrade to 6.3 L N/A engines, the AMG's were supercharged. They had more torque but less top end.

That's still an awesome kill, especially with your mods. I guess those LTs make a difference! :)

It's was a CLS 55 AMG. It's one of the older ones. I think someone said in a previous post that they stopped making them in 06? The first run was from a 40 roll, second was a 50 roll.

He wasn't spinning at all. I was in my passenger seat and he was right next to me. He didn't spin anything. Just got the jump on me because of lag on the downshift.

There is a way to get rid of the lag in the transmission from a roll. If you are at 40 mph put it into 2nd and after you have smashed the gas, throw it into D so the car can shift itself after that.

If you are at a roll from 50, I'd say put it in 3rd.

my friend has a e63 and on a mustang dyno, he's only getting 375rwhp....i really think their slushboxes kill alot of hp.

the way that their PCM / ECM systems work limit/manage/control torque and power a lot, especially up the top end to help manage/control fuel consumption at speed.

yeah, my buddy had one for alittle over a year and got sick of the expensive lease payment,but it was f-ing fast.the c 55 amg is not supercharged,but he should have spanked you!
