I have always used NERO when burning any discs. And all I listen to in the car is MP3's, so I know it works. Come to think of it, I have never had a problem with any disc I have put in the G8. I would try another brand of blank media. If that doesn't work, maybe burn a disc from another computer as it may be an incompatability issue with his burner and your player. Hope that helps.

check what the actual blank disk was. CDR CRRW CDRD?? I probably named one of them wrong but I know that there are diff kinds of disks and I know that in the past in other cars etc some work some dont, just try a diff blank disk, or get an Ipod! lol

Whatever you do, don't use I TUNES, those monopoly trying dicks make their Mp3 cd option not actually Mp3s. It burns some other type of file like MPEG 4. Only the I POD and some select players will recognize it. Not our radios, those Asses. I hate Apple, sorry.

I recommend InfraRecorder. It's free.

I think I figured it out....I just have to get to my car and try it out. As for the Ipod .....when I plugged it into my deck the sound quality was just horrible no matter what song.

the G8 reads both CD-R and CD-RW discs ;) (assuming they are burned in the correct format)

just burn straight data CD's with folders/MP3s with whatever software you are using... and they will work fine. g8 is not picky with media (cd-r/cd-rw... brand, etc.) at all...

Clunky and burns media, but hey you want MP3s...
1) Make audio CD out of your selections in iTunes
2) Rip resulting CD to MP3s
3) Burn MP3s to a data CD
4) Put data CD in car and listen to MP3s

I use Vista's WMP to burn them. There's just one option you need to change, to burn the index correctly. I'll have to wait until I get home to check what it is, though.

If you burn a CD using Windows Media Player in Vista, do a data CD. Then under Burn>>More Option>>Burn Tab, use the pull down to "Add a list of all burned files to the disc in this format: M3U"
