For those of you like me that maybe mechanically challenged, if you’re trying to add air to the tires in an even fashion, i.e. 39psi front 41psi rear, using the DIC as your guide you know how challenging or difficult this can be.
When we first tried to inflate our tires to our preferred inflation, we found ourselves going round and round in circles getting nowhere, until a bolt of lightening finally hit me! :hmm: :zing:

Simply take a regular analog tire pressure and compare to your DIC reading. It will be either +-3psi than your DIC, so simply make note to add or subtract the reading.

If for instance the DIC says you have 35PSI and your analog says 38psi and U want 39psi on the DIC, simply add 42psi using your regular gauge and your DIC should read 39psi.

Just keep in mind that it may take a few seconds for the correct reading to register on the DIC as it is digital and all digital readings fluctuate, but are far more accurate than the analog.
Therefore just move on to the other tires and when the dust is settled and you’re done, you should be pretty close to the figure you want in less time.

But that’s just me!

Cheers!

Haha. I wish you would have posted this this morning. I spent about 1 hour trying to get my tire pressures correct this afternoon after rotating my tires. :confused2:

I like mine better since it's free!

Did i mentioned that besides being mechanically challenged i'm also cheap?

But that's just me!

Cheers!

I have more confidence in my tire pressure gauge than I do in the TPMS on my G8. The TPMS reads about 2 pounds higher than my tire gauge. The sticker on the door jam specifies 36 front and 39 rear. When I set tire pressure according to tire gauge the TPMS reads 38 front and 41 rear. I think 38-40 all round would be good whether you relied on tire gauge or TPMS. I also think 40-42 would be acceptable in rear tires when traveling with a loaded trunk.

So we are supposed to fill up to 39 psi rear and 36 psi front? Right now when I am cruising, the DIC says my fronts are 33 psi and my rears 35 psi.

Yes, if you have the 19" rims. Mine flux between 36 (cold) - 39 (warm). I have mine all the same, call me old school LOL

I have 18s. If I set the pressure to the recommended psi, the centers wear out fist. I run them at 34 warm, that way they wear evenly across the tire.

The 39 in the rears is if the vehicle is at full weight. 36 all around is fine. I have the 19's and both are wearing normal.

So you fill them up to about 30 psi cold?

36 in the frt will cause a little edge wear. I would run 38-40 in the frt and 36-37 in the rear.

So it shouldn't wear out the center tread? And that is cold psi, correct?
