I was just curious if anyone as actually taken the lenses off the rear tail lights and color matched the housings. What made me think about this is how good it looked on the angel eye headlight / color matched head light combo. I was looking at it today, and I think it would look awesome, especially on my white hot car.

Opinions? Pictures? Comments?

I havn't done it. I have seen someone I know do it to their headlights on their magnum. it was that dark dodge red and it looked fantastic. I think It might look good in white. Do you by chance know anyone good with adobe photoshop? maybe they can use it to give you a good idea. Just a suggestion.

I've got the car with the color matched headlights... Curious if the tinted tails would go with the theme or not. Hmmmm...

Is the Halo and LED set up to come on with your daytime running lights and then Halo shuts off when you turn on your headlights? How does that work?

I wired it up on switches... So I can turn them on/off whenever. I had a different set made here very recently that I cant wait to post pictures of. I just need the rain to stop so I can clean her and do it. I can make the entire housing glow blue now. :D Anyway, I don't mean to thread-jack.

Yea, I'm not talking about tinting, I'm talking about actually taking the lenses off and painting the housings the color of the car, like those headlights. :)

I was thinking about doing this myself as the black housings just don't look all that good on the Pac Slate. I think the guys that did Mav's headlights can do it for you.

lol.... does nobody understand what "take the lens off and paint the housing" means?

For some reason, I'm not really sure why, MOST manufacturers use a different type of sealant for the tails than the headlights. The headlights usually have a soft and maleable, silicon-type of adhesive that can easily be heated up and separated. The tails use a very hard, epoxy-type adhesive that just does not come apart very easily. I haven't seen anyone that has actually removed the lens from the tails yet.

So, to answer the actual question.... no, to my knowledge I haven't seen anyone do what you're looking to do.

Both the rear and frt light look really good color matched. You guys are giving me more and more things to do and I have not even bought the car yet. - Lance

the fronts are extremely hard to take apart... If the rears are worse, then I don't think it'll be happening on my end.

I'm going to be out of town all weekend (starting tomorrow), but I need to clean her up before I start posting updated pics. Although, I can say it looks badass. :D
