I've looked and looked, does anyone know where the list is that gives the build number of the first 888 2008 G8 GT's?

I believe its the last 3 #s of your vin. If you have one it says 888 on the pass side of dash.

Thanks Charlie. I just found out, now believe it or not, that mine was built in Dec. of 2007. Shouldn't that make it in the first 888 built? Just looked and the last three numbers of my vin are 022. Does that mean I have the number 22? :)

No. I bought mine May 1st 2008 and its not a 888. If its not on the dash, its not one.

Ah darn it, I was thinkin' I had the number 22. Where is the list on this forum where you can see who's who?

If you have an "888" G8, the last 5 digits of your VIN would be 88xxx, with the xxxs being the number of your "888" car.

My car is a 11/07 build date car and it's not an 888.

Thanks George. I guess that lets mine out. Oh well, it's been a very well built one so far, no troubles to speak of except for a couple of routine TSB's.

As George said, last 6 numbers of VIN should be 988###. My build date was Dec 2007, bought the car middle of May 2008, and it's not an 888. But that's OK, just meant that the dealer couldn't claim a "market adjustment" on the car. Not like that would have worked for me anyway (Gotta love GMS pricing) :nah:

I had a chance to get a 888, Liquid Red but no sunroof. Could kick myself in the ass now.
