We finished our semi-annual 1,600 mi. drive between FL and IA. This year the 09' got 22.8 MPG at an average mph of 71.1, vs the 08' last year that got 23.6 at 69.0 mph. Wendy was driving the G8, just like last year.... and following me... she couldn't use the cruise control effectively!

The 08' only had a Vector tune, and no other mods period. Ran Premium - but most if not all gas had no ethanol. NOW... all gas has 10% ethanol.... Mileage difference is almost completely due to alcohol in fuel....

This year, the 09' had Breyton's with 35 rear offset and 275's. Also had full Vector tune of engine and tranny, and the DOD has been deleted.... other differences are the RotoFab & HRSK, with the open lower panel Charlie mods, and a Magnaflow Street exhaust.

For comparison.... my Denali XL got 14.5 mpg this year vs.... 14.9 last
year....

AM I SATISFIED.... YOU DAMN BET..YA!!!!!

You can milk some mpgs out of these cars

What year Yukon? I had a 07 Denali XL(6.2) and on a Trip to Toronto on rt 90 in NY I managed 23+ mpg @ 80 mph :) rest of trip averaged 18 ish +/-

I miss that suv :(

Yukon Denali XL is an 03 - new Alenza's w/ nitrogen so pressures were in the 30's, which is lower than I like for long trips. Eagle GT II's on 20's ran 55K and probably would have gone another 10K if I had wanted. Alenza's wander more, but ride smoother.

The six speed in the newer ones make a difference.

I get about 22-23 on the highway so that's pretty much spot on Rob. I've been running higher pressures in the tires though. I need to lower them a bit.

Welcome... Home? lol

Wizzed thru your home port around Sun. noon!

High tire pressures are not Iowa compatible.... Dropping them about 10 lbs. Was even worse in GTO at Christmas....

Do Pedders mods you did affect ride much? Can I install with normal tools?
(Did my Magnaflow street system exhaust in less than 2 1/2 hrs)

Last trip I took in my 09 G8Gt was with my tune (HPTuners) and Vararam CAI. Made 22.6mpg and Avg. speed was 69.7mph. That was with some in town driving in Amarillo,TX.

WHEW!!!! I guess my G8 is like.... NORMAL!!!!

Wonder how much the wide offset Breyton's and rear 275's affect the mileage.... Will be getting a set of A/S tires for stock 19's for trip back in OCT... and a return at Christmas with my White 08' BABY... guess that will give us a comparison.

BIGGIE "Q" ???? Are we going to be driving econoboxes or electric cars in the next few years......????? IF SO.... should we all try and stockpile a spare G8 so we can express our (first amendment rights).... OOPS ..... it,,, just.... came..... out......

So... what color should I buy next????

Silver. Then do black trim, silver handles, tinted windows, black Breytons and no emblems. The ultimate retro euro look.

I would have said Sport Red and some chrome Breytons would look positively awesome...
