I drove one for a while as a loaner while the G8 was at the dealer. Not a bad car. Found it surprisingly fun to drive. Maybe that's cuz it wasn't mine but fun none the less lol

haha yeah prob bc it wasnt yours. Its okay ya know. I am used to more power than this but its all good. It does look like a half-melted half-retarded G8 but its all good lol. Yea it has the ecotech 4 cyl in it. It feels like it has about 32ft/lbs of torque but once you get going it holds the highway speeds damn well compared to other cars. I will have like 100K miles on it within about 4 years anyway with the new job so it will do its job ya know. I think I woulda felt bad if I got a G8 and within like 5 years it was at 100-150K miles.

hah, i had a stealth gray G6 V6 before my G8...i actually leased it, as stupid as that was. I finally couldnt stand seeing G8's anymore and traded it in. The G6 wasnt a bad car, but not really fun by any means, in comparison to my Beastmaster!

Had a G6 recently for a loaner also. If the seats were the same as those in the G8 I would have had zero complaint. I imagine the GXP package would fix that problem.

true. Yeah if i had the cash to spring for a V6 G6 or a GXP GT etc then id have just gotten the G8. I do like the G6, it is the best selling pontiac currently, but it aint SHIT compared to my dads G8 man.

My wife has a white 07 V6 G6. Not a bad car and I do not mind driving it from time to time, like when it rains so that the G8 can stay nice and dry at home.

this is very true. I am in it to save cash. I got a lot of loans out and debt right now and im only 21 ya know. I wanna save some cash and pay off my debt so I can have some good money when I am a little older and want stuff like a house etc. Then will come the toys.

Oh and I will trade you straight up for one of those G6s up here RB Designs

My dad just traded in his 06 G6 GTP yesterday on an 09 G8 GT. He got fed up with the G6, it just felt like it was falling apartand it just hit 49,000km. The car was just off warranty and needed $2000 to keep it going. Things like leaks, suspension work, plus lots of squeaks & rattles...It almost made him switch to an import but I convinced to give the General another chance...

Cool... I got a Silver (to match the G8) G6 GT 2006 to go along w/ the G8. Its the "wifes car" ...lol.... its loaded w/leather and all the goodies. 3.5 V6 The stock sound system blows away the system in my G8... :(

Looks just like my wifes car, all you need is the car seats. I drive it from time to time it's not that bad to drive, just not enough power.

DQGTO

yea needs more POWER, especially since its got the 4 cyl. The stereo in it BLOWS but it isnt the upgraded one. I plan on trading up for it for a G8 in a year or so, depending on the G8 situation (ie how many left) and my income. We will see. Or at worst some other GM car, but Pontiac was my only brand

Finally someone who shares my pain!!! I had an 2006 G6 GTP, also. It was a train wreck! Water leaks, bad rad welds, trim falling off, electrical issues, defective rotors, climate control and remote starter never worked.

I finally got GM Canada to get me out of my lease on it with 6 months remaining. The trade-off was I had to buy another GM vehicle. So I ended up with this 2009 G8 GT and I'm happy.

I hope that this doesnt happen to mine! Its my first new car and shit, after having 3 old pontiacs with 100K + on them, I hope this one lasts better and longer lol. If it does, trade in will happen of course and I will flip out. Its wild too. I am like close to 500 posts on here, been a member since like Jan and I DONT own a G8 lol. I was planning on getting one, but you know the end to that tale. Dad has one, as I have said numerous times, hence my obsession for one. But still, I find it funny that I am on here a lot, and post a lot, but dont have one. And no, I do have a life lol.

I had a G6 GT sedan on a rental while the G8 was in the shop for a couple of days. There were a couple of things I liked about it better (stereo seemed slightly more potent when listening to normal FM), and many things I did not (no power, thirsty for gas, god awful interior, etc). It handled pretty well when put through its traces, though, which I was surprised about.

I guess if it was in the ballpark of $10,000 I would buy one.

Congrats dude. We had a g6 for 3 years before we bought my wife's Trail Blazer and it was a great car. We had exactly 0 trips to the dealership through the 35k miles we drove it. Solid car - I think you'll like it.

good to hear some positive feedback about the car not dying lol. Im sure it will do its job for me and take its beatings and its 100K plus miles that will go on it. You guys really think the stereo is good in this car? Or did you have the upgraded one? Bc I have the base of all base models of this and the stereo is piss poor IMO. Yeah I mean it was 15K and the way I look at it, that isnt bad. A pretty base 09 right now, brand new, (mines a brand new 08), is up on the dealers lot for like 22k minus the 3k in rebates, bringing it to 19K. For 4 grand less I got one thats a year old and a little more baseline. Thats a good deal for me as far as I am concerned.

Try 1yr of ownership and already 30k miles!

Wife drives it to school/work and back, which is a 100+ mile round trip commute/day.
