I'm sure this is probably a spastic question but, is the oil filter the same on the LS3 as it is on the L76? Also, how many quarts does the LS3 take?

the owners manual should tell you the capacity, right?

The K&N website says HP-1017 for 09 G8 GXP 6.2L

Same oil filter and I would assume its the same oil pan (8.8 qts)
