Today my neighbor decided to paint her chain link fence with some silver spray paint. Unfortunately my G8 was sitting in the driveway. I now have little silver speckles all over the hood. What should I do to get them off? Would a clay bar work on something like this?

Take it to a professional detailer...one with good references. There's a good chance if you do it yourself you are going to get swirl/buff marks all over your clearcoat. Than go b%@#slap the neighbor.

YES! A clay bar will work well. Do you have a good coat of wax on it?

That will help you a lot if you do.

Do it NOW though. DO NOT wait.

If you use plenty of lubricant (detail spray) NO scratches should appear.

I would try a clay bar as a first option.... Wet sanding would be a last resort... O and dont forget to go in your neighbor's yard and take a dump on her lawn....

DO NOT!!! I REPEAT DO NOT!!!! Wet sand the stock G8 paint. It is MUCH to thin to do this and will really decrease the life of your paint. They put one coat of clear on this car from the factory. It's thinner than I have ever seen on a car.

The clay WILL take it off with some work. You can also clay the windows as well.

I just waxed it the other day, so it has a good coat of wax on it. I am gonna try to clay bar it. Thanks for the quick replies.

This happened to me all I did was use a good wax with some rubbing compound.. spray paid is very easy to get off no clay bar needed.

The nice thing about the bar is it will capture the contaminate and not continue to spread it over the paint (which can cause micro scratching). Just make sure to fold the clay every so often.

Also put another coat of wax on it when finished.

I have been down that road before and I used mineral spirits. It worked great and it does not hurt the clear. You will need to wax it all over again once tyou are finished.

Some very good advice so far here...(except for that wet sand part lol).
No one mentioned the best thing for your issue...Stupid Neighbor Bitch Blood. It may not take out all of the paint, but you will feel much better! Sorry to hear that you have been affected by one of the inconsiderate few. I hope everything works out.
Aside from that, clay bar is also the route I would go...followed by more wax.

The Clay Bar is really good. Then again, use her face as the bar. Your neighbor is just pissed because she's drving a Hemi!

if it was spray paint, laquer thinner should take it right off. Just be sure to wash and wax after doing so

A claybar ending up taking care of the problem. No retaliation on the neighbor, she really is just a nice old lady. I am 99% sure it was not malicious. Thanks for all the help.
