Just got off the phone with the G8 brand manager (who is a hell of a guy BTW!) and I was able to get the possibly final production #'s on the 09.5 GXP and man I'm glad I bought one!

Get this...



















1,828!



As to be expected everything is still up in the air over at GM so its unclear at this moment IF production will resume at all for MY 2009 (not likely) or if there will even be a 2010 MY But he's working on getting me a breakout by color and MAYBE if I ask really nicely a breakout by color/transmission (we'll see on that one!)

Other than some small hoses that I had to cut I've got everything :)

1828 is a low number

comparatively, here are some other historical production numbers:

That is very low. If they don't produce the GXP setup again, even more so.

A few more reference points.

2004 M-B E55 Sedan - 3218
2004 Saturn Vue Redline - 1402
2009 Dodge Charger Superbee - 450

These are all year to year. The Superbees were 1000 per year for the 2 previous years as well. So yeah, it'll be a pretty rare car if they don't make any more.

Yes if that number is correct... I will consider myself fortunate to be a G8 GXP owner.

I would venture to say that a SBM M6 GXP no roof with red inserts (if possible) would be the rarest combo...:drunk::space::hmm:
