I just noticed this, seems these wires should have some sort of cover over them,I looked for engine pics from this angle but didn't see any here,is your car like this also?

Thanks,lol. I still think there should be something over those connectors to keep the road dust and water out.

Pleeeeeze! That connector is the natural breeding place for the Northern Australian Bifurcated Sand Louse. (Also known as the "fudgepacker louse")

Thus the common Aussie exclamation "Crikey, he's a lousy fudgepacker!"

A flexible sliding "boot" like they use on aftermarket round IDE cables (but bigger) would be ideal.

I'm gonna make something to cover this up.IMO it's a potential corrosion problem.
