Very nice George! Thats fucking quick man. What's that in your rear view mirror? Lexus IS-F, Mustang Shelby GT-500, Aston Martin DBS, Corvette (base), Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, Benz CLS AMG..... I think that puts those numbers your putting down, into perspective. Well done. If you don't mind answering this, how much do you have in your current setup w/o installation? I'm guessing around $3500 +/-. Either way that G8 of yours is bad ass my friend! :theman:

Does your radiator cover fit good ??? Mine seems like the fit is just off a little. On the window washer bottle side it rubs on the corner where the turn in the cover is and pops up a hair. Then that in turn opens the window washer fluid lid.

I just re-tested mine this morning. it was about 75* with low humidity. A/C off, TC off, normal mode, rev to 1500 rpm. I got a bit of spin but turned a 4.82 sec. this is right where they have all been for a while, 4.80 to 4.86 sec. This was done with the new GM code that over wrote the VMS TCM tune. I overlayed this run with a previous 4.82 run with the VMS tune. The VMS tune shifted a couple hundred rpm higher but the time from the RPM dropping until it started ramping up again were very close. Too close to tell if there was much difference between the 2. I don't have run with the original OEM tune to see if the new GM code shifts faster than before. The new GM code is, overall, an improvement in drivability. The VMS tune improved drivability some and performance even more. I'm hopeful that the VMS tune based upon the new code will be better than the 2 are individually.

Once the FXP comes with the updated VMS tune, I can compare the 3 runs.

It's not based on the new code, compared to our TCM tune its worlds apart. We tested both on Dr. Millers car and the GM version with ours grafted on was HORRIBLE LOL

Thanks for the clearification. I thought the new code felt better with respect to the hesitation and stumble that happens when almost at a stop, coasting briefly, then rolling on to jump out in traffic but VMS was better in all other regards.

Looking forward to the FXP.

Got a 4.33 last night, I'll post the graph later.

I "rolled" into the throttle, instead of mashing the throttle. Definitely not the fastest acceleration off the start, but it kept the rear tires from going up in smoke. They were just kind of "chirping", a bit more than hazing but less than spinning.

Just ran a 4.16, but for some reason my DH won't upload the run. It tells me there is no data-log to upload. hmmmmm

Oh well, I found the trick! Bring the RPM up to 2000, let off the brake, and roll into the throttle. How fast you roll the throttle is dependent on how much traction you have.

On this 4.16 run the tires spun maybe once or twice at the start, I think I could have been a bit more aggressive with the gas.

The only problem I am having is I still hit the limiter once every 2 or 3 runs on the 1-2 shift. I'm going to have to get with Vector on that, maybe they can quicken the shifts a bit. The trans feels like it could be a bit more aggressive in it's shifts.

I know, but they are going to have to speed up the shifts, hitting the limiter does nothing for the acceleration. I'm going to call them tomorrow.

Just wait on the message. ;) I'm going for a 4.0 by the end of the week.

Actually i was playing more to see how it shifted with the new VMS TCM tune I loaded. today with FXP. I didn't think there would be much improvement over my previous best of 4.80 sec. Nothing changed but the tune. The 4.80 was very repeatable over the last few weeks and was done on a level road. These 4.6x were done on a slight uphill (I was only looking at the shifts). I was getting some chirping at the 1-2 shift and if TC was on, that would kick in during the shift. I was experimenting a lot. The rear tires were hot and reading 41 pounds and could spin them if i torque braked too hard so I tried to launch at about 1200-1700 and went pretty fast to the floor. On some passes i got a some chirping and on some i got none. On one I cooked it too hard and got some real wheelspin for about a second.

The dashhawk 2.5 problem is that alerts don't reset. Say you have an alert set to flash yellow if ECT hits 220. so its hits that, flashes yellow, then ECT goes down to 210. it'll stay yellow instead of resetting to normal screen color.

It's apples and oranges.

Your car makes more power(headers) and with the converter, it hits the tires harder.

I think the rear X-frame bushings and differential bushings almost have to help. Of course, it will just hit the tires that much harder, but it will get rid of any chance wheel hop.

A good set of springs and dampers are a good idea also...

Its apples and oranges now but before this last set of mods I was already spinning. I just can't convince myself that bushings is going to do the trick. I think we need things that don't exist yet for our cars.

I am going to get spring rates like a drag car and 90/10 front and 50/50 rears. If either of you have an interest, LET ME KNOW ASAP! I will try to work a 3 way deal for us. Now this will take away from the handling unless they make adjustable ones. This is all Pedders too, just not known about by many.

G8V8

I'm making less power. My mods are only CAI, tune and HSRK. As soon as i drove it withe x-member and diff bushings I could it. The shifts became sharper, if that makes semse. don't know how to describe it. Not firmer but more crisp. When i asked Frank about it he just smiled and said more power was going the ground and less to moving the diff.

What about your alignments? What rear camber are you running? The closer to 0 the better for dragging.
