Okay, so they will make police cars possibly. That doesn't mean it will be offered to consumers. It has been proven with the GTO and now the G8 that rebadging Holdens and shipping them to the US was not sucessful. I think it was coined "a training exercise" from another article I read.

Rebadging the G8 WAS successful, but one car cannot save a corporation.

By losing gobs of money? How exactly was it a success? I agree that the vehicle is awesome in every way, but I can't call it a success if they aren't selling. The only reason sales picked up in the last couple of months is because of the incentives.

Sweet, maybe I can drive one for a daily driver and as a work car.

The success of the G8 cannot be blamed solely on the car itself. Marketing of the car blew ass for the oh idk first year or so, if not more, PLUS the economy doesn't exactly foster new car purchases. I bet if we were in a great state with the economy the G8 woulda sold a lot more cars. Thats just me though. When people are making money, without fear of the bottom falling out on them, I dont see a ~$30,000 car being out of reach for many, especially this car. But with the uncertainty and the fear that is so prevalent today, its no surprise that not more people wanted to make the plunge for the G8. Not to mention GM being complete asshats (stolen phrase from Penguin lol).

The dealers in my area are stocking up on the G8 for the time being. The closest dealer now has 25 on lthe lot and another load coming in. Yes they ARE selling.

marketing sucked, i didn't even know about the car till i started looking for a new car after my old one started to crap out on me... i almost bought a 09 mustang, nothing against it but i am very glad i found this car instead.

This had to be one of General Motors worse marketing jobs. You cant sell a car in the US giving them names like G3,G5,G6,G8, IMO.
