Left Over G8

[It's A G8!]

What will happen to all the left over G8's when Pontiac dealers close and have not sold all G8's. Will they stay until all of them are sold?

I was told by a salesmen that any that didnt sell would be shipped Back to GM, so who knows. That was for a Pontiac ONLY dealer though, so yeah if I had to guess I would say that they would sit. Any thoughts on prices? Not trying to hi-jack this thread, just wondering. You think they will go down? Up? And when?

There might not be any leftovers. When the Dodge Magnum was discontinued, they rapidly disappeared from my area, probably because people were worried that there would never be another opportunity to purchase a new RWD station wagon. With the G8, people will be worried that there will be no more affordable awesome RWD sedans available in the future. If a miracle happens and GM announces that the G8 will be rebadged and improved as a Chevy or Buick, the G8s might sit on the lots for many years.

If I was still searching, thinking, contemplating about making the purchase this news and a mild discount would get me to open my wallet..or should I say my banks wallet. Instead a big discount got me to purchase in March.

yeah I was riding the big discount wave and i hoped that it wouldnt crash on me by the time I was ready to buy. Now i just have to wait and see whats up as I wont have a job probably for at least a week or two, assuming the interviews I am going on go well. Sucks. I really need a G8 GT in Stryker Blue lol

I was going to wait a bit more before I bit on a Gt as well.

I stopped by a local P/B/G dealership today and the salesman told me that their plan was to hike the price up on the GXP "15-20K"..........I almost shat(word?) myself

Last month there was a GXP at the dealer's where I my G8 and they told me that it was already sold at 5 grand over list.
I almost bought a 2006 GTO left over at a dealer's a long time after they had been DC'ed, maybe a year, year and a half ago.

I know this is off topic but there are going to be 25000 G8's left. 15000 on land already and 10000 that have to be built and then thats it. Thats what I heard from a good source at GM.

That's almost a years worth of g8's!!! If that's the case, SWEET! That will allow me to pick another up next year. I doubt they will go any quicker than what they're selling at right now

Local dealer from whom I purchased my G8 bought up the remaining G8s from a dealer who shut his doors last Friday. several GTs and 2 GXPs. No V6s. He told me that the V6 was the ones people are looking for the most. Still no word on the 2010 model (Still Hoping against hope that it will make it) Saw the picture of the proposed 2 door Buick/G8 it does look mean. Hope that it makes the cut.
