Looking to get some valve covers that I can do some cosmetic mods on. Any LS2 / LS3 covers OK or do they have to be L76 specific. I want to use the stock ignition coil brackets.

Consider getting stock covers powder coated? Aftermarket covers are hard to find and very spendy.

I want a set of stock replacement covers. I'm thinking of smoothing all the unnecessary stuff off and polish them.

What kind of gaskets are under the stock covers? Are they reusable? This might be a multi-day project. I'd be taking them on and off if I didn't have a spare set.

The only thing that might be specific about L76 valve covers is the "restrictor" in the rear drivers side cover.

LS2/LS3 covers might have the same casting but probably dont have the internal machining done for this PCV restrictor (not 100% sure they have it):

Pull 'em and Powder Coat 'em. i did mine and my intake on the Phoenix and they are bulletproof. Check out www.triplehcoating.com for more info. I bought new gaskets from autozone and they were blue so i returned those and bought black ones from GM. If you have lower miles, you might luck out with reusing your own-mine were 10 years old.

but you will also need a set of coil relocation brackets (http://PacePerformances.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=249316) since the covers we have don't have the coil brackets on them.

What is the metal bracket in the image you posted if you say you don't have the brackets on them?

Those are coil brackets. The image I posted is not of the covers we have in stock. I just used that image for an idea of what you would get.
