I'm new to the board and hopefully I'll have a G8 tomorrow. I still can't decide between the Black with onyx/red interior or the white with onyx interior. What are your thoughts?

If you don't mind cleaning it CONSTANTLY, get black; otherwise make it white. I think a sporty car should be a bright snazzy color, but that's just me.

I am a fan of neither to be honest. However, white is much easier to keep clean looking longer than black so if I had to choose, white.

It's interesting to see opinions on different boards and other sources such as FB. On my FB page, it was an overwhelming black. It's certainly a difficult decision as I like both. Not all car models look good in white, actually there are many. The G8 isn't one of them. I think the amount of visible black trim on the white is nice looking. I keep going back and forth on the Red seats. This morning I am having buyers remorse and I haven't even gotten the G8 yet :-) I absolutely love my 2k7 G35 Sedan Sport! My payments would be exactly the same and insurance is $1 more a year. No more free oil changes, but no need to use premium anymore. It's basically a wash. The G8 isn't going to hold it's value at all. Last night the wife said, "and what benefits does getting this car have"? My only reply is, "it's big"! Decisions, decisions......I can't seem to keep a car more than 2 years. I ketp my 2k2 maxima for 4 years before someone totalled it. I bought a civic and kept that for 12 months, then a 2k7 Camry SE which I kept for 6 months, then the G35 which will be 2 in July. I have issues! :-)
Howdy and welcome! I'm sure you'll figure out the color thing.

Personally, I'd go with the White. I was going to get a WH GT until I found my SBM.
Paint protection/clear bra would be a good bet with White, as we have black bumpers :)

I had to pick between the stryker blue, black, white and pacific slate. Stryker blue looked good on the car, but wasn't for me. Black and white were normal and you see black and white cars every where. The pacific slate caught my eye the first day I went to the dealer from the road that was in front.
I think, and have no solid reasoning to think this way, black makes the car look like any other black car. Its just the way each person sees the cars. You need to pick what you like. What I did was have the dealer wash the black and pacific slate and have them sitting side by side when I came to sign the paper work. After all was said and done and I spent some time on this forum I wish I would of had them wash the white one instead of the black one.

I chose white because I had two black vehicles at one time and it was a bitch keeping both of them clean. So I probably won't get black again. But that's just me. The only thing I can say about white on this car is that I'm concerned about putting exhaust on it because it just may not seem right with a white car. Almost doesn't seem sporty enough. Red is a good color for exhaust.

Have the dealer park the two colors beside each other and then make ur decision. Thats what I did with my last car and to me a black car is just so much sexier, especially at night IMO. I always end up getting black. I enjoy washing my car though so I guess once the keeping it clean factor is out of the way black is the way to go. Plus there are not a lot of black cars here. Make the decision for you and not what others think. Plus the red and black int. is much nicer than the plain black.

I have black & love it, especially at night it looks pretty sweet. But if I wouldn't have gotten black, I would have gotten white.
Brandon's White GXP is bad@ss :)

Black of course. I hate all white vehicles,IMO it looks boring, sterile, bland and un sporty. Kinda like your a corporate drone following all others into the corporate hive and after work you leave and follow the other white drones to your respective homes. Be a color, not a drone.:twocents:

I just got home and ended up choosing the white. I hope I haven't just made a huge mistake buying the G8. I think the car needs an alignment and tire balance. The remote start isn't working and the sunroof isn't working properly unless I'm doing something wrong. When I turn the sunroof nothing at all happens unless I push up. When I push the remote start button the car doesn't start. Thoughts?

balance and alignment are common, it comes from being strapped down on the boat for so long, the dealer can easly fix that.
the sunroof, sounds like an issue for sure, but just to covers one thing I've noticed with mine. the key has to be in the ON position, meaning even with it OFF but the windows and radio still on, the sunroof will not have power.
as for the remote start, you have to push the Lock button, the quickly press and hold the start button. If that doesn't work, it means it's deactivated, but there is instructions in the manual to re-activate it.

Thanks. I managed to figure the remote start out. The sunroof is weird. If I turn it to one of the options and push up and hold it will do what it's told, but it doesn't work just by turning the knob. Alignment is way off and balance is definitely off. I hope I made the right decision.

you did man. It is typical to have buyers remorse after a large purchase like a car but as you can see from all of the members on this board, this car kicks ass (and i dont even have one yet) lol. My dad bought a 08 IOM GT (ignition orange metallic) last june. It was actually his first brand new car and he was nervous at first for a little, but now it is all he freakin talks about. I am sure you will love your baby, just give it some time to work itself out, get that alignment done, give her a nice wash and wax, and then stomp on it, you will be hooked.

They won't do an alignment or balance at my local dealership until I reach the 1,000 mile mark. They suggested I drive the 1+ hour to the dealer I purchased it from. They are looking at the sunroof today. My guess is they will have to order parts to fix, but I am hopeful it's an easy fix. The sunroof does do everything it's supposed to, but you have to turn the dial and push it in and hold it until it complete the function. I tested another one at the dealership and all I had to do was turn the dial. The stereo is horrible in this vehicle. Luckily I still have $2000 worth of audio equipment from a previous vehicle I had a few years ago. The Infiniti system was the best I've heard in stock form. The car seems to handle well for a large vehicle. The dash is laid out nicely and the seats are extremely comfortable. This is one are American vehicles have always been good. The steering wheel and seating position are also great. I love all the extra room!

It is certainly spacious! Yeah that button thing is weird though, but I am sure it can be fixed semi-easily. Check out one of the threads on here, about turning up your factory amp. It makes a HUGE difference, but yeah coming from an Infinity, I guess I can see your disappointment. I would take it back to the dealership to fix ALL things though. Although it is far, I would really recommend that you go back to them. After-all you gave them all of your money for a product that is not performing how it should, so why should they get off scott free? And those heated seats will burn a hole in your ass lol

Black isn't that bad... With the new car care products it's pretty easy to keep them looking great.

All cars manufactured after September 21, 2008 should have the new Sunroof controls. The new controls suck. The service manager provided me with the documentation. They changed the hardware and functionality. If anyone with a build date before this who has the old setup will be switched to the new setup if any issues arise.

Good, the G35 heated seats sucked. My ass warmed the leather up faster :-) I will try the amp gain, but the subs sound muddy and the do not sound deep. What are they crossed over at? It sounds like maybe 120hz or so.
