I know these fit on a G8. They are on Reg's car. My question concerns
the MT drag radial 275/40/17 [Approved rim 9-11 inches / 10" tread width].

The GTO rims are 17x8 so will a 10" wide tire be safe on a 8" rims that is
mainly used for the track ???

The general rule is +/- one inch.

I had no problem on my gto.. they did have some buldge but they worked just fine..

275/40/17 M/T ET street radials.

THanks guys but I just went ahead and bought those 17x9.5 ZR1 replica rims
for $125. I just got tired of searching for used rims.

After I got my 17inch GTO rims, I HEARD the holes weren't big enough or something?

I haven't even tried them on the car yet.....any thoughts?

Will they just bolt right on?

that's only true on the rear!!!! They do notfit on the front because the rim rubs on the strut tower brace...

An aftermarket rim that fits the gto that has a 40 offset will fit fine on the front. Gto 48 offsets --- no----!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's what we are talking about ..the rear. The rims are wanted to mount DRs
on.

Your first post talks about that, but some of the subsequent posters didn't get that you were only talking about the rear...

Sorry if I offended you.... but was trying to keep this clear... This has been an issue here before and is a constant issue on G8Board. No one does a Search....

Not offended. I just wanted everyone to know we were talking about the rear.
