Red Stripes on Black G8

well I decided to finally get the stripe kit put on and I must say I am very satisfied with how it came out. It brought me a lot of attention and nothing put positive compliments. If its nice out tommorrow Ill wash it and get some better pics. Let me know what you think.

HMS rally kit. Ill take some more pics tomorrow after I wash the car as you can see it is raining now. I didnt really know what to expect but now I am glad i did it.

ver nice.i would love to see them in silver! I have a black gt,so silver would be hot. Looks great in red ,too!

Looks good! Did you do the install or did you take it to a body/detail shop. If you did the install, did you have an issues with bubbles? I have been considering matte blacks for my MGM, but I am on the fence about it.

Install was $180 by a local place. There are some bubbles but not many you can only see them if you get close to the car. If i did it again id have someone cut there own vinyl so it is not a one shot deal for whoever installs it.

I like that a lot. I thought I wouldnt when I read the thread title. It does look good though, especially where the stripes stop on the hood. Good stuff. Next would be black rims with the same color inlays somewhere subtle, really tie that together, IMO. If I were to do it, I would stop the stripes like this :

You getting the black door side mouldings to replace the chrome? Cosmetics aren't a priority for me, but eventually I will probably get them. They're pricey on this site; might be cheaper through the dealership or elsewhere.

yea I want them but I dont have the money right now (im only 19) so Im gonna have my kooks system and get my car tuned first then I am gonna save up for the door moldings, rims,and door handles. You think its possible to take the door molding off and have it powder coated?

Not sure.... since they're already chromed and hard to say if it would be cheaper. The fact that they're shipped from overseas doesn't help the price.

My plans was to have all chrome in matte black to match the matte black stripes. Of course I got a great deal on my MGM and that all went to hell.

I would think once the car sits in the sun the bubbles might go away as long as the are TINY BUBBLES

Nope, I never liked really bright interiors. IMHO the black with silver looks the best.

Thanks for the update, MBower!!! I've decided that I am going with a rally kit, just not in red...or black. It's going to be a bit more... subtle. :sneak:
