I might as well come clean. I wanted a vms tune and still do but my parents said local or nothing. So I gave Kaltech tuning a call in Deer Park. Payed 350 for a 93 octane ECM/TCM tune ONLY. No CAI or anything yet. Again, because of the parents. All in time. They use a mustang dynometer. The guys there, Steve and Brian were awsome. Brian did a baseline run on the mustang dyno and then did the tune and did another dyno run. Stock on the dyno my car put down 291 rwhp and 305 lb ft. of torque. Mind you this was a muggy hot humid day. After the tune the car went to 305 rwhp and 314 lb ft of torque. Believe it or not average torque went up more than max torque. Car does feel MUCH better and faster and i feel they did a very good job. If my scanner worked i would show you the actual graph. I'll take a pic of it tomorrow and post it. So 291 hp to 305 and 304 lb ft. to 314 on a mustang dyno. What do you guys think?

How does it drive with the TCM tune? Are all the laggy areas with the trans cut down?

Not bad without a CAI.

Did your parents buy you the car? How old are you?

yes the tranny shifts are much quicker and crisper. Much more fun to drive now. My parents helped me a bit on the car but i payed for most of it. I saved my pennies for many moons and had to sell everything i own. I had a bunch of dj stuff i had to sell. Didn't have time to do that. I'm 18 years old.

Yea, I guess they figure they helped so they retain some control. Bummer. they'll probably get over that part in a while :)

Thats what im waiting for. All i really want to do to it now is get the CAI and the ARH headers system. I think i'll be good for a while with that.

That car has more in it. I saw a bone stock G8 pick up 24rwhp on 87 octane at ICON Motorsports. I will be using their dyno and the owner has a G8 like mine that the are about to get started on.

I thought so. There still new to the G8. I wish i knew more about details on tuning it so i can tell them but i don't. they are my only option. Still, its better than stock. Wish they got more out of it though if there is more in it.

Just noticed this tonight. They didn't raise the rev limiter like i asked them to. They actually decreased it by 200. The car now shifts at around 5800 rpm.
