If you cam your G8 don't try using INVOs at the track. They are completely useless. I even let someone else drive my car and the results were the same.
Up in smoke !!

When you run mid 13s at 114mph you know you're not hooking.

Its a waste to go to the track without good DRs and knowing how to do a burnout. Why make a 100 bad passes when you can make a few good ones. :)

I agree. There was someone there coaching me during the burnout. I had rubber on my roof. I just won't go back until I have DRs.

So yeah, how do you do a good burnout?

Keep spinning them until they blow????:poof: Now that'd be a good burn out :)
I have to say I was actually very surprised as to how the Stock 19" Bridgestones hooked. I pulled a 2.07 60. ft. with 31 psi in 'em.

Invo is a great tire, but I don't know of any non-drag radials that work well at the drag strip. My Viper went 11.2 @ 135 mph on a set of 20" Nitto Invo tires. Yes, it was a lot like high hp ice skating. LOL!

From the master:

When you pull into the water box, spin the tires a little bit then pull forward into the "dip" and do your burnout. If you spin in the water box a lot, you sling water up in the fenders that drips down on the tires and it is worse then not doing a burnout.

By "a little bit", I'm sure he means 1 or 2 easy revolutions. Don't go nuts.

The only reason I ran was because I hadn't been to the track in 15 yrs. I knew I wouldn't hook. I just wanted to get a few runs in to get some seat time. I shut it down on a couple of runs.

There was a car at the private track day that ran 48 times in 5 hrs. You could run whenever you wanted sonce there were only 30 cars.

I would have done the same Roy. Thats why last night I made some full tilt passes instead of just 1st and 2nd gear. Its always amazing what you find when you do that. I think I have it figured out, just have to wait until tonite to seeif I have time to go back out and test my theory.

The best drag radials out there won't work if you don't drive it right (not directed to anyone in particular just in general). Invo's have gone into the 9's when used appropriately, but they are not a drag radial. Launch lightly. Feather the throttle, quick shift, or try to haze them instead of just stomping it to the floor. Once you start spinning them bad its hard to bring it under control; wheel speed gets up too fast too quickly. G8's are like all cars, it takes trial, error, and practice, practice, practice to make them consisitent and quick. My Invo's have gone high 11's

The best burnout with non-DRs is a short one. Just get em clean
