I built this for a member of the G-8-board without the dashes..
Hope you like
Okay fella's....Starting a new project for a fellow forum member.
I'm Gonna name this one "Beautifully taken apart GT"....Or maybe "no passengers cause the dash is gone"......
HAHAHA!!! Inside joke.
We are doing a spare tire enclosure for dual Jl 12W6v2's...
It will consist of fiberglass/Baltic birch and will be finished in Black Vinyl.
Starting a thread to show progress for that member.
day 1 -08APR09
Picked up the sheet of baltic birch.....Sure is easier to handle by myself than MDF is...I actually man handled it into my van very easily.
And Boy is this stuff pretty... I love working with it...
More updates coming soon...
Day 2 09APR09
Started the measuring and tape process...then foil and pre-positioned fiberglass mat...

DAY 3 10 APR09
resin layup begins....
Figured I would use the OVEN method....
Place a "SAFE" space heater in the trunk and let it heat just the said area....Use one with a timer that way it will shut itself off...and mine will also shut off it it gets too hot...
In the pics you can see that it is only like 58 degrees...But after 20 minutes it is 92 degrees....I am gonna open the trunk slightly to reduce the temp so the heater does not shut off due to over-temps...
This is just the first few layers...there will be one or two more applications before it is taken out....so grab the popcorn and stay tuned...
Also Notice----see the line drawn in sharpie...that is where 2.68ft3 is..more than enough for 2-12's...JL recommends 1.25 sealed and each sub has a displacement of .09 so this is exactly what they recommend.
(Note to self?????DID I SPELL "REcommend) correctly?
