OK guys im going to order some wheel... Im looking at a 20x10 for the rear and Dscount tire is telling me it will work fine... 20X10 35mill offset? I thought we needed like a 45 offset in the rear? any input would be nice... Thanks

that is my understanding also. you may have to roll the fenders with anything less than 45mm.

but wont a 38 be set in further than a 45? will they rub on the inner side then?

You need at least a 55mm offset to get that wheel to work. At 35mm it would be rubbing the fender pretty good.

Offset revisited.
Positive offset means the center line of the wheel is further from the mounting face.
As you change offset, mounting face stays the same.
stock at 8" we have a 48mm positive offset.
Smaller offset bring the centerline of the wheel closer to the mounting face.
Do that with a wider wheel and you rub.

Bob.au has 20x10 (35 or 38mm offset) Breyton GTs on his car. He has said they do rub a bit over bumps or if the car is heavily loaded.

In a perfect world I want the outside of the wheel to stay in the same place and all additional width moves inside.

Think one of the members has 20 x 10 Beyern 5 spoke with 40 (?-check TSW site) offset and he had to roll fenders. Not sure what tires he used.

There are lots of variables. Tire width is a big one. Not all 275's and 285's are comparable. Toyo's run narrow. My 285 Bridgestone's are really wide. Must check tire specs also!!!!!!

"Snowbird" installed 285 Michelins on 19 x 9.5 with 35 offset and had tire damage.

As I've said before, I get a very infrequent "Zing" from both of my g8's when they are loaded/+ full spare and I make a hard turn with bump/dip. No marks on tires or fenders though ----yet......

My 275 050A's are on Breyton's with 35 offset. My 285 050A's are on Beyern's with 45 offset. Tires stick out about the same because the 285's are almost an inch wider cross section. Breyton wheels stick out 3/8" further.

Do you have a drop on either of your G8s?

What size tire do you have mounted on the 20x10 please?

Im running Yokohama Sdrive 275's, no rubbing @ stock height, but with the Lovell's Slam it kit I never stood a chance. I may go 285 or bigger depending on how much room I have once I trim the inside fender.

Where are you located? Doubt you are close, but if so you can drive mine and see how close it comes. Mine are Breytons with 35mm on the back on a 9.5" wheel. A ten inch with the same backspacing is gonna hit. My fenders are rolled, eibachs installed, and I even with my sway bars adjusted fully firm, it comes close to scrubbing... I may have a pic here somewhere...

True....even a with a 43mm offset a 285 on a 10" will rub if you lower it to about 627mm. Ask me how I know, scratch that don't ask just trust me!

It's A G8!

If there was a wheel that was 20X10 with a 55mm offset it would clear the fenderwells? And no rolling would be necesary?

Depending on the tire, you could hit on the inside instead of the outside
