Anyone ever do this? Only real references I've found so far were for Air to Air which while similar I was looking for more first hand experience :) I ordered a can of Eastwood Radiator Paint but I dont want to do ANYTHING that would really hinder heat transfer and I've never had to paint one before.

Chris, I just shot a little satin black from a spray can I had sitting around. Just enough to make it NOT visible under the grill. No big deal...doesn't need but a LIGHT coat.

Ask Livernois. The shot mine with something black.... Paint won't hamper heat transfer much, it will, but not much. Don't get too creative and just put a very thin layer of something flat black. Radiator paint probably has less solids in it than regular paint. There are a bunch of theories about black being best color to dissipate heat, but they generally have nothing to do with moving air over a radiator. The heat removed from air flow will overwhelm any potential benefit of black paint. My heat transfer knowledge tells me it is another barrier to overcome and will hamper transfer, but not enough to be measurable. Again, super light coat of flat black should be good.

If I could get the kidneys off easily I would have done it too. I don't think a light coat of flat black will effect it.
