So INTENSE Racing (http://www.intense-racing.com/) was offering a promotion for an APS TT kit for $100 on the other board Promotion Thread (http://www.g8board.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12293) and guess who the lucky winner is :):woohoo::woohoo:. I purchased two tickets on March 8th, but last night(4/2) i was feeling lucky so i purchased a third which turned ot to be the one. I have not yet decided if i will drive to OH for the install or find a local shop to do the installtion. I am also contemplating adding a cam, but keeping stock boost. This is my DD but doesn't have to be, and i really dont want to screw with the fuel system

I will keep you posted on what i do and such

There is NO way I would go to the trouble of swapping the crank pulley. As noted in my Maggie install thread, it is a bit of a pain loosening and tightening the bolt. Wasted effort w/ the turbos.

Tuning: hope you have someone GOOD with turbos. Or, you might talk to the vendor and beg/buy a CONSERVATIVE tune that could be flashed w/ HPT. Then get further tweaking at your leisure. OTOH, if you have someone GOOD in your area, let them HAVE AT IT!

04-06-2009, 09:53 AM
I concur with MtbDoc. Why the UD pulley?

As for tuning, INTENSE should have a great base tune for the system. I've known the owner for a long time and my dealings with them were all positive. Only reasons I didn't get an APS system were the somewhat remote possibility of having to move to the land of commies in CA for an extended period of time (CARB stuff) and a higher cost than the Maggie from Livernois. I think you'll enjoy it!

Rogue
04-06-2009, 01:14 PM
I agree with the UD pulley. It isn't needed. We are sending along our tune based on many installs and dynos so it will be very close but a bit conservative. With HP Tuners you can modify it as you need later on.

Started the build this afternoon, made some headway. So far i removed the front fascia/bumper, radiator support panel, and put in the new windhshield washer assembly and a few other things. I would have done more but some screws/inserts in the bumper beam gave me a hard time, ill deal with that tommorrow. I also tried doing the new ecm learn but i must have screwed it up(10minutes, cycle off and repeat three times;no luck.) If anyone knows the procedure it would be great if you could post it or pm me.

The time i spent on the project today wasn't to productive, spent most of the day screwing around with getting the welder powered up. All i got done today besides that was the Heater Hose Mod (http://forum.grrrr8.net/showthread.php?t=326). As well as the new injectors 60lb injectors, that went pretty smooth except that two o-rings got stuck in the fuel rail and of course it was it the back, had to use paper clip and a mirror to pop them out

today was just on off those days, hopefully tommorrow will be better

Today was a good day, got alot of stuff done! Installed the intercooler to the bumper beam, and mounted headlight assembly back on the car. I also put the wiring harness back on the radiator support, and the winshield washer pump extension, dropped the cats. But most importantly assembled most of the turbos pieces(fittings, flex adaptors, wastegates)

Almost done! Installed both turbos and installed the water/coolant lines from the turbos to the engine block. I had a few road blocks today. The first one was where the turbos and magnaflow catback flanges met. The turbo flange was straight and the catback flange was ****ed at a 30degree angle. So i had to sawzall the flanges off the catback exhaust, find the stock exhaust which had a rotatable flange. Then go to an exhasut shop and have him fab a small piece of pipe, needless to say PITA. The next one was the damn ECM learn, i must be an idiot because i tried three times and cant figure it out!

i drove around with the radio off just to hear them, and the blow off valve. Im sure if you had the radio on, you would barely even notice them.

i think the exhaust drowns it out heres a clip inside of the car, the noise in the beginning is the aux oil pump which is kinda loud

i love how observant people can be, theres one thing nobody noticed yet which surprised me

P0521 'Engine Oil Pressure sensor/switch circuit range/performance"

I had to relocate the oil sender, just haven't had time to check the wiring or to see if i blocked it with sealant

Took the car to SlOWHAWK Performance, i got lazy and used stock spark plugs, so it was pulling timing/misfiring, so i have to replace them and go see him again but here are the numbers. Don thinks it should be close to 480hp and above 500tq:woohoo:

Did he roll into the throttle? Sounded like it took a bit to spool up. Great work man.

I was just saying in general. I've read where lots of people are running the cars in third, and it skews the numbers.
