I thought I had read that someone had this same issue but searched and can't find it.....
Tried Calling Kirk but have not gotten a call back and would like to get this done since I am using someone elses laptop (it won't work with mine that has Vista)
It is popping up a message that says that the ECM is not licensed....does anyone on here that may have had this happen know what Vector said to do?

I have no experience with their product (mine is shipping tomorrow) but it sounds like they may not have the correct VIN# programmed in. I could be completely wrong though. I'm sure someone will chime in.

I have tried that before ...didn't work.....there are a lot of people who don't have a problem using Vista but I remember when we first got ours tuned there were others that had issues just like mine....
Still didn't hear anything back from Kirk....I am thinking that what I had read in the past was that it had something to do with the wrong VIN like SLA stated.....I don't remember if that was the definate problem or what someone thought might be the problem

I searched with ECM error as my parameters. Brought up these threads.
Thread 1 (http://www.forum.grrrr8.net/showthread.php?t=1569&highlight=ECM+error)
Thread 2 (http://www.forum.grrrr8.net/showthread.php?t=4589&highlight=ECM%2C)
Thread 3 no help, not followed up (http://www.forum.grrrr8.net/showthread.php?t=2879&highlight=ECM%2C)
None of the threads had any tags, so it takes time searching.

Thanks G8Ray....I found all of those threads but none of them are the one that I thought I remembered reading just here lately with the same problem that I am having...this is my forth time tuning but the first time with the new cables and I never had this problem....probably something very simple ...

Did you get a hold of someone up there yet?
Charlie has his cell as a last ditch effort.

Got ahold of Kirk and got the answer I was hoping for ....the message that pops up was asking if you wanted to license the ECM this way it is specifically for your vehicle :woohoo:

When you first use the PowerFlash cable it asks you if you want to license it to your car. If you say yes it will work perfect.
If you say no, it will tell you your ECM is not licensed.
I have not heard of this happening before so I assume everybody is telling the software yes, license my ECM.

Anyone have specifics on what is needed to use this on Vista? Surely the firewall doesn't have to be completely turned off?
