In a couple of days I will have a GXP caliper to see how it works with my 18 and my 19 inch aftermarket wheels.

If anybody with OEM 18 or 19 inch wheels wants to check clearances before buying a GXP brake kit (once they are available), now is the time to do it.
I'm in northern VA for anybody who wants to come over, e-mail or PM me and we can work out a time and date.

I will post the results.

I will only have this caliper a few days.

Thanks for doing this. What are your aftermarket wheels and what are the specs on them including offset?

I have Stern ST-1. 19x8.5, 40mm and 19x9.5, 42mm.
My winter wheels are ASA 18 x 8, 40mm.

The caliper fits the steering knuckle but used a different pitch bolt than the GT. The caliper is much wider and is centered further out. This caliper did not clear the spokes on my 19 x 8.5", 40mm offset Stern ST1 wheels. It also would not fit with my 18" x 8", 40mm ASA wheels.

Both my wheel styles have lips so the spokes meet the rim 2 to 3" inboard from the rim edge. I THINK to use this GXP set-up you will need wheels that have no lip and the spokes run to the outside rim, like GXP or stock GT wheels.

Thanks a lot for updating us. So we know the GT mounting bolts will not work as you are the second person I know of to have reported this. My current wheel is Sport Edition CD in 18x8 +42 offset. It doesn't have much of a lip. Do you think this will clear?

I seriously doubt it. These are my 18x8, 40mm OS for my snow tires. These were not even close to fitting.

Good reason to stick w/ the stock wheels!

I assume the stock 19s and maybe the stock 18 will work with the GXP calipers. Once Greg gets the actual parts and tries it we will know for sure.

I believe my current wheels has more spoke to caliper clearance than the stock 18's so maybe I'm still in luck. Hopefully Greg will be able to test the stock 18's out as well as the 19's. If it doesn't fit I could always go the wheel spacer/longer studs route although not ideal.

Not only is the caliper thicker, the centerline of the rotor seems further away from the caliper mounting bosses on the knuckle.

Wish we had a cut out template to test like the Baers. I know the Baers already fit my current wheels and the stock 18's.

I took some photos with a scale in them.

There are a total of 3 photos.

In the album, click on the photo to enlarge it then right click on it and do a "save as...". Then you can print it and play with the settings until a distance on the scale in the photo matches the real length. When it does the size of the caliper will be real close to the size of the caliper you print.

For reference, the mounting bolt centers are 5.0" apart and the distance from the mounting boss where it contacts the steering knuckle to the outtermost width of the caliper is almost 4.5".
