I was watching this couple in a new Vette, and the wife said what is it and the husband said I dont know but its bad ass! I walked over and talked to them for about 10 min. The wife wants one now, and the husband is bringing in the Vette!

Charlie has figured it out that the Aussies put the V red badge on the WRONG side of the rear end...

So did I...

Put my 6.0 V's in the wrong place too.

American stubbornness I guess.

I put them where I thought they looked best. The 6.0s are in the correct location. The V didnt look right on lower left with no other badges.

Hey Charlie,
How did you get your orginal badges off? I know it's been discussed before, but just wondering what YOU did? Looks great by the way!

Fishing line, sore thumbs for the adhesive, and 91% alcohol for the final cleaning and then spray wax once installed.

Another tried and true method (for me anyway) is to use a hair dryer until it becomes loose and generally the adhesive will stick to the badge when you use the string or simply pry it off slowly.
Apply plenty of baby oil on any remaining adhesive and let it soak for a few minutes and wipe off with a soft lint free cotton rag or even old Froot Of The Looms (briefs) :D
Just keep a corner soaked with baby oil in case you need to re-apply between wipes.
This worked very well when I removed the entire trim piece down both sides of a Chevy extended cab pickup.

I popped my "Pontiac" off today in about 3 minutes with fishing line and goof-off.

I've decided that I'm debadging my ride as well. Charlie.... how does the "V badge" match up with your the red on your car or the pontiac badge on the arse end? I'm thinking of leaving the center pointiac badge, removing everything else, but adding the V badge where you (Charlie) lined it up. Looks good, btw. Charlie, did you eyeball it or did you do some measurements? I'll post some pics (before and after) when I knock it out. Later my fellow dancing bananas! Charlie.... can you send me some detailed pics of your lower panel mod, please. I've seen the pics you've posted, but I'd like several more from different angles. Thanks!

I used 1 1/2 masking tape for the truck. 1 piece on the side edge and 1 piece across the bottom edge and then placed emblem level on edge of tape and the right side touching the edge of that tape. I had the Arrowhead on there too, but it did not look right so it had to go.

Yeah I bought the V badge too and it looks great. I am removing all but the arrow's and installing the V but I am thinking the bottom right of the boot.

We'll see I guess...

Cool, thanks, I'll give that a shot. I'm wondering if the arrowhead would look better on my black car with the V badge on the right? I'll know tomorrow when I get the badge in the mail..... we'll just have to wait and see.

With no badges except for arrow head, the arrow head looked out of place or the V did.

Chewy
09-02-2008, 09:29 AM
Yeah... I think the arrow will come off mine too... Not that I'm not proud of my (ok I know I don't have it yet) Pontiac but because I want people to wonder what it is...:first:

The front will stay on mine... Not going to be bothered with it. I have asked for the plate to be left off but I'm sure that'll get F'd up too.

I have the "Holden" Lion badge on trunk in place of the Pontiac Arrow.. Of course, my grandson is named "Holden". They named him after my GTO!!!!

Also put the "V" badge on the lower right, which is the opposite of the Commodore "V" which is on the lower left.

Charlie knows best!!!
