Red Mustang with a SCT on her and I decided to catch.

I caught up, and he took off. He walked me pretty bad starting from around 80, but from a stop, I held my ground till second gear.

Turns out, he's got a 2.8 KB on it putting out 700 whp!

A noble death for my baby.

You held your ground on first gear because he was roasting his tires..:D

SCT is just the computer chip he used to tune the car, its just a decal. If he had a 2.8 then he was racing a cobra :)

I've seen this dude around, he's a pretty nice guy. He got a car that's mean as hell though. Pretty much fully modded. His exhaust hurt my ears, and he was behind me! If had decent tires it would have been less of a kill LOL. I fish tailed for a full second after going into second gear and that's when he flew by me.

Looked very newish, new body style (not the brand new ones). Maybe an 08, but it's very very nice. I should have snagged a picture, but we were clipping along at a pretty good pace:)

He did say it was a stroked 302 with the 2.8 KB blower.

I think he's from round here (Fort Mill).

He was going towards Tega when I turned off into my sub.

This is the second encounter I've had with him. This time we got to chat at the red.

If it was a stroked 302, then it was a GT that's been stroked/blown, and he threw on the Snake emblems. Sounds like a pretty sick car from the description, not too many, if there is one, G8s that would hang with it outside HOB's car. Honorable death none the less.

SCT is the handheld programmer of choice for S197 Mustangs. The advantage is that any shop can tune the car, and recieve datalogging via email to adjust the tune file. You can also make changes like speedo correction, shift points, rev limiter, idle rpm, and tons of other stuff. You can even set up a 2 step with it.

The Kenne Bell 2.8H is the mammoth blower used on the 800hp GT500's. On a built 302
3V with all the trimmings, that engine will easily produce 650-700rwhp on pump gas, and 800rwhp on race gas. Mind you, he'll also got to have a massive clutch, and have changed the input shaft on the tranny if he's a stick. The auto's are good to about 900hp stock with the right trans tuning in place. JDM in New Jersey is running a 9sec Saleen with the stock auto trans in the Fun Ford Weekend races.

How do I know all this????

I lost to an 04 SVT cobra really bad. Left me like it was nothing.

I've heard that there are lots of 10 sec. cars running around, maybe this was one of them.

Not necessarily. The KB 2.8 can be had for the SN-95 New Edge GT's, as well as the S197 GT's too. They aren't limited to use in only the Terminator's and GT500's.

I don't mind at all. Even if I lost, it wouldn't be that bad of a thing. If anyone ever asked I could answer "yeah this guy with a stroked out 2 valve with a big ass Kenny Bell beat me...whats your point?" lol It doesn't manner if you lose when he is supposed to win!!

Thats why I bought a Cobra convertible. That way I can say "yeah, but you lost to a heavy ass convertible with its top down and baby seat in the back".:nah:

Have you been to the zMax dragway yet.. I heard they are going to open it up for weekends drags soon. Have you heard anything about it. Have you been to the rock for any drag racing.

I haven't been over to the ZMax 1/4, but I believe they are open.

It's $30 to drag. Not sure if that price is one run or what.

That had better be one helluva strip to charge $30/pass! I bet its $30 as much as you want like all the others.....my local is $20 :nah:
