V6 exhaust washer mod

I recommend some axle backs and it will sound better. No offense intended but even the cheapest axle backs will sound better. Save up if you have to:) I know it's a V6, but my monte was a v6 and it roared when stepped on.

Yeah. its just temporary. Im waiting to see if anybody has had any good results with axle backs on the V6. i have only heard bad about them so far.

Does the V6 have resonators? You should see if anyone removed them and how it sounds etc. I don't know anyone off hand who did it though, but it's something to check into.

Sounds pretty good to me. With axelbacks on the V6, you won't get bang for the buck. For example, I don't think any G8 V6 owner would think they got a great deal for a $1,700 Corsa setup. I think you'd feel better about the washer mod for $2.00.

Srsly... if we're just talking about sound and not HP, this sounds pretty good.

I can't image the GT's mufflers would enhance the sound. They shut the v8 up pretty good. Now, I'll say the washer mod on the GT does a pretty good job!

Exactly what did you do? Sounds pretty damn good not like a ricer in my opinion. Can you reverse the mod? How does it sound with the audio system on. And finally, were the windows up or down when you made the test run. Sounds European to me, sort of like a Jag.

There were many doubters on the washer mod. Most have been thoroughly impressed...and the fact that it is easy to do, adjustable (really loud or just a bit more than stock), and reversible makes it a mod worth trying. I can't speak for the V6, but it was well worth it on the V8. Call it ghetto, call it lame, but I've gotten more compliments on the sound than I ever did before. May not give you that $1300 Corsa sound (which sounds great BTW), but for about a buck you can drastically change the sound of your car, in a good way. Most who have tried this would agree. And if you don't like it, just take the washers off. Piece of cake.

Lots of info there. Just requires picking up some washers and slapping them inbetween the flange bolts before the muffler. You don't need a jack, just slide under there and have at it.

Why create a leak? wtf? CAI with stock exhaust sounds fine on the V6.Sounds like a wet fart with the washers.Too bad you let up on the throttle on the pass-by vid thou.

Finally tried the washer MOD 2nite,not to bad.The guy who started this thread drove his car like a granny,wasn't impressed dude you gotta hammer that throttle harder.Made a couple of videos at WOT but my wife did a shitty job filming.She filmed the dashboard instead of the road.I do have a CAI too(V6).I will make some new videos at work tomorrow where there's a nice long open road.

Actually,the more I watch these videos the better is sounds....hmmm..but,It sounds too much like a looooooong fart at idle,like burrrrrrrrrrrr.I want the exhaust sound to talk,like bur bur bur bur bur bur bur bur,Like Charlie's car does.But at WOT it sounds pretty good !
