Just finished with the install, and I have an appt. at 2:00 to get tuned. I will post the numbers when I get back. Only other mod I have is ARH 1-3/4" LT's.
I know the dyno won't show the whole picture, but I also know people are interested in seeing some #'s.

So was there a new tune done at the same time? or just bolted o the intake and ran her??

Did they alter the tune at all?

Yes, base line run with intake headers was like 350hp 360 torque, after retune is what you see. It is extremely humid today as well.

Nice! Seems right on track with the New Era OTR....About 15-16 HP. Congrats!

Once I get my powerflash cable from Vector, I'll update this thread with new numbers just to see. But I'm sure others will have numbers with the vector tune by then. I'll also be going out to the track to get some #'s some time pretty soon.

Try and get it street tuned as well....These types of OTR intakes like Vararam and New Era have more in them tune-wise while they're being driven and tuned. Trust me ;)

so you got 15hp and 10ft lbs with an intake and tune? Something doesnt sound right about that...

The first dyno was 352/356 is this just with headers and nothing else?

Just headers was 337 / 357, headers and intake was 352 / 366

intake being vararam? OK this make much more sence to me :) I thought the first run was just headers...

SO im still confused :) do you have a tune? at what point was the tune done?

-337/357 just headers? No tune?
-352-/366 headers & intake? Still no tune? or with tune?

That's without the correct tune for it and the pressure of driving down the street!
SWEET!

I was tuned for just headers before, and I'm now tuned for the intake, it made 350whp/360ishWTQ without a tune for the intake, and then 352/366 with the tune for the intake. Thats why I'm curious to see what it does with Vectors tune once they have it ready, I have the powerflash cable on order.

cool. Mine is identical to your for mods so i will see what I can do next Saturday!

So G-force did a dyno tune for the headers and then a new tune for the vararam?

And then you are switching to a Vector tune? Do you get a refund for the G-Force tune??

G-Force wont tune the transmission. This is why he is using Vector. Nice #s!

Yes they have a lifetime tune. Its $500 for the inital tune (which I did when I was stock) and then its just $75 for the dyno each time you need a retune. I went with them at the time because the flash express from vector was too inconvenient, and G-Force is 10 mins from my house. But now with the Power Flash cable I can get adjustments when needed without having to wait. And like Charlie said I'm also switching for the trans tune.

Thanks, the roads finally dried up enough to take it for a test drive and, WOW! It's as much of a change now as the headers were from stock. Can't wait to get back out to the track.

why wont they do a trans tune??

My tuner just doesn't really want to mess with the trans unless it's beefed up (plus I don't think he has too much experience tuning the trans), and with HP tuners all you can do to the TM is turn it on/off, you can't adjust it. Last time I was there he raised the line pressure and cut the shift times in half but I didn't like the way it felt and the TM was still getting in the way, so I had him put it back to stock today. Thats the main reason I'm going with the Vector tune even though I already spent money with G-Force, plus all of Kirk's experience with tuning G8's.

I was kicking myself in the ass when Kirk made the Powerflash thread, lol. Oh well that's what I get for being impatient.

From what I've heard....it's complicated. Or at least I thought I heard that.

Did you have an aftermarket intake before the Vararam or were you stock?

What kind of dyno are you running it on? Your numbers are alot higher then mine and Ive got all the same stuff. My headers have the highflow cats on them.

Do you get a refund for the G-Force tune??

Nope. A tune is a service (a tech's time and knowledge). About the only way i could see getting a refund would be if that particular tune could not be made to operate correctly.

Stock intake.

Dynojet, I have the highflow cats as well.

Nice numbers...seems like the Vararam has some pretty good numbers.

with HP tuners all you can do to the TM is turn it on/off, you can't adjust it

Not true, the beta version has adjustable TM. I've been using it for weeks.

You are correct. The reason I know that is that I was sitting in my car yesterday with Dan @Livernois and he showed how they can adjust the TM, on my car it's set at 25%. Adios.

OK, let me rephrase. With HP tuners v.2.22 you can't adjust torque managment, only turn it on/off. My tuner showed me.
