Sounds more like an execution to me (considering my car's paltry 415 hp). But if I have a few weeks, I could get a maggie, nitrous, ram induction under the hood, bore it to 413 and blow out the fuel injection system and replace it with a fire hose.

about as far as you'd go, or you think another 100/150 would be just about right? ;)

Very nice numbers. How exactly does the "remote tuning" work?

wreckwriter
03-26-2009, 04:03 AM
Thanks guys. Kirk and Brent did a helluva job tuning this thing, got about 100 HP more than I expected. Seems maybe my blower belt was slipping previously as Brent says the boost is back up to 10 lbs... That's a bit scary but I dunno if there's hood clearance for increasing the pulley size again.

Car doesn't feel much different, a bit more tendency to squeek the tires at start if I'm not careful but pretty much the same until the boost comes in. Haven't had much chance to test it yet, hopefully the next couple days will change that.

I'm dieing to hear your thoughts about the converter plus the blower.

I'm interested to see where you come in at in the 60ft.

If you're back at 10lbs of boost, where would you be with the old pully?

I have big concerns about being able to launch it. Going to need some practice as I've previously been flashing it; haven't run it yet with converter or DRs.

16 or so I'm guessing, maybe even more.

So, since your goal was 11.50's, how far from the finish line are you going to let off? I'm thinking you are going to run low 11's at worst. That's a shitload of power.

OK, it basically works like this: load the data-logging software you get from Vector, connect laptop to car, do runs, either dyno or street , send data-logs to Kirk, he reviews logs and sends back tune, flash tune, lather, rinse, repeat as needed until it's right.

I hope that's not the case. I'm thinking traction is going to limit me. I'll be happy with 11.98 (then I can run in Super Pro class).

With your drag radials I would be SHOCKED if you ran anywhere near a 11.9x. My brothers Camaro runs mid 10s with 50 less horsepower. Granted it weighs around 800-900 lbs less. But, it doesn't have a drag racing suspension setup either.

Is there a way to plug the wideband info from the dyno into the logs?

The A/F ratio is on the bottom of the dyno sheet.

11.98?

hahahahahaha

Did you buy a PowerFlash?

You might need a "race tune" that has lowered shift points and possibly some extra TM added back in.

;)

It doesn't happen every day, "Hello, Mr Tuner, can you slow my car down?"

It already has some TM added, wanted to soften things up a bit. Not yet on the PowerFlash but very likely.
