Does dodge make a product worth running under $85000? It doesn't seem to matter which model tries to play on the interstate, the result is almost always the same. The closest one so far was a guy that works for one of the race teams out of Mooresville NC with a Daytona edition Charger. I know he's worked on it because of other guys he's outrun, but I was still left "wanting". I got a better rush by running one of the SRT Jeeps. Is the Viper the only thing left?

You've done a motor swap, of course the Charger/Challenger isn't a "challenge" (sorry for the pun) for you! :nah:

I think you need to start looking at running Shelby GT500s, seriously modified SRT-8s, and others.... The Daytona package Chargers only have 5HP more than the standard R/Ts.

Dude be careful, those Mopar police that patrol the living shit out of the other board's "Racing Section" might jump over here and put you under bench racing arrest.

But seriously it has gotten out of control over there.

go play with some c6's and 03 cobras. Hell even some z06's! Mopar only makes stuff for looks imo.

Agreed. You might find a Whipple or KB Cobra worthy.

Sure I have a slightly bigger motor, but I didn't really "cam it out" like a lot of people. I have run a few of the Cobras and GT500's, but I want four door cars haha. A couple of local CTS-V's have been "weighed, measured, and found wanting" (to borrow a line from A KnightsTale), as have several CLK's, SLK's, and 5 series. But nothing tops pulling back up to them at the light and asking "Does that thing have a Hemi?" afterwards. I figure I've spent no more money than they did, just not on big wheels, stereo, or "bling"

If I wanted to run with 2 door power adder vehicles, thats what the WS6 is for lol. I don't mind putting my faith in my F1R haha

The new Cts-V is going to be a hell of a challenge. Low 12's stock, and who knows when the modding begins. Definately my next DD.

How did you do with the terminators and GT500s ? And is your 427 the same as what is in the Z06?

They are definitely harder from a roll than from a dead stop or very low roll. The factory or bolt-on-except-pulley cars are still fairly easy. The Terminators are of course easier to stay in front of than the GT500 even with a slightly smaller pulley. I think alot of beating the GT's was in the driving and picking the right speeds.

My 427 is not a LS7 crate engine... lets just say it is designed to take way more abuse

But you may enjoy this... I happened to get behind a GTR w SC tags on it last night. From a dead stop that car is vicious, from a roll it loses some of its "bite"

Whats up with these Challenger SRT8 owners?? I've seen 2 in the last week (1 today) and I can't get any of these guys to man up.

They know better... the challenger is a turd. Too heavy and not enough power

I've taken on all of them from a Magnum to a Challenger....No challenge at all. There is one Challenger SRT8 running around my area with a supercharger I haven't tangled with....yet, but I will.

I had the one I saw today at a red light with a clear 1/4 mile in front of us. I should asked if it had a hemi, I figured by the way was trying to pull away earlier he was game but at the light he wouldn't even look over.

I also flipped a U to catch up with a SC Cobra kit not to try and run just to look at. I love those kits..

I'm beginning to believe Dodge named this vehicle appropriately... It definitely takes someone with more driving talent than most to make the car even get out of the way...

The best way to beat 'em is to race out of a dig!

No the best way is to not even act like you tried haha (but then again from what I've seen, we don't even really have to!)

I tried getting an RT Challenger to take the bait today, he was behind me for a bit on a 4-lane divided that's out in the sticks a bit - he wanted nothing to do with me and you couldn't of asked for a better stretch of open road
He was checking out the G8 when he finally got on the side (to turn off :( )and gave a nod. The Challenger's might be pigs, but gotta say they sure are good looking pigs.

Maybe that's why they call them Challenger rather than Champ
