Generally these things are just pretty plastic and wires. You buy it, install it and since they said you would get an increase in power, your brain says "yeah, wow, it really did help, I can feel the difference."

The above commentary is based on actual experience, BTW. That's right, penguins ain't too smart. :p

I agree, it probably doesn't work, but I'd like to know what it is trying to do. Like the ad said, most of those other "chips" are really resistors which try to fool the IAT. This one seems different in that its pulling in the OBD port. What sensor are they trying to fool this way?

I like the generic power curves on a graph with no numbers. That's convincing.

@ 96Prix

I was thinking the same thing...love those super realistic and accurate dyno graphs!

Ordered! All you suckers are wasting time with cams & super chargers.

Did you see the graph? I'm not sure what it was even a graph of, but the lines were going up in the right direction so it must be something good!

What sensor are they trying to fool this way?

The one behind the wheel :)

My guess is that the chip isn't actually "doing" anything and all it is pulling from the diagnostic port is DC power for the blinky lights. The chip might be some sort of LED controller they have programmed to blink the lights in a seemingly random fashion so you think data is being sent and received.

Scammers.

Also prevents back pain.

(It thins your wallet, thereby reduces the likelihood of sitting on a fat wallet while driving, which prevents you from sitting crooked, which is good for your spine).
