so most of you know about my dealings with EFI Alchemy and their master tuner , Doc, but I figured I would put everything into writing on here, both to help them and to help any G8 owners who want to get the most out of their car...

1/4 results
bone stock: 13.49@104.3
tuned and OTR CAI (AUS spec): 12.7@110

mileage
bone stock: 17 MPG in mixed driving (4000 miles), best i ever got was on a 500 mile trip, 26 MPG
tuned and OTR CAI w/ DoD turned off: 19 MPG in same conditions (6000), pretty much same trip, 26 MPG

driveability is much better now, as Doc has perfected every upshift, downshift, and every other parameter he could alter... the car truly is running perfectly, and i have no complaints... he is currently working on the car to tune it for the 100 shot, which i hope to use to break into the 11's on street tires... for anyone in the southeast, or anyone else for that matter, who wants the best, i fully recommend EFI Alchemy in Jacksonville, FL...

"tuned and OTR CAI (AUS spec)"

What is the AUS spec OTR? Can you show a pic of it?

i will, it is raining right now and if it stops before the sun goes down i will get it tonight... otherwise i, and you, will have to wait... it was a bit of a pain in the ass to tune for, according to Doc...

Did you consider the other OTR intakes as well? If so, what factors led you to choose the AUS one?

.7sec off the stock time is incredible with tune and intake.

i got my intake well before any of the current ones were even being thought of... the one i have is one of the more popular and better performing intakes over there, so i figured, why not? it pulls in a TON more air than the stocker, and even gets within 2 degrees of ambient temp in stop and go driving...

It's good to have another tuner in Florida I know to refer my customers down there to.

That is a serious improvement for minimal tunes, congrats! Was the DA and track conditions similar on both runs?

the DA was damn near the same on both days... btw i dont quite understand what you mean by "minimal tune"???

Atlas, you should invite those guys to the forum.

i have, they are just really busy... Doc works for the Navy during the day and does this at night, and their Master Mechanic works at a dealership in Fernandina Beach during the day and drives out every night to work on stuff... so they are rarely online, even on LS1tech, which is where they started... i'll remind them again, but only after Doc finishes tuning the nitrous, lol...

lol, i searched for that thread and couldn't find it (even searching through the My Posts option)... kudos, and yes that is exactly what it looks like, except we popped the shroud part off as it gets more air and cooler air that way... we are going to try to fab something up to seal it all off from the engine bay and incorporate the scoops, as they sit directly over the filters when the hood is closed...

I know I have hijacked the tuning part of this thread, but with the hood closed, where does it pull the air in from? The newer OTRs tilt the radiator back, but yours looks like it completely blocks off that area.

it pulls in air both from the gap b/t the hood and the bumper, as well as from the scoops... we removed the strip of plastic crap that is there to aid in more air getting to the intake...

Thanks Mike! Count on the same from us my friend.

Hey Atlas, we got a car show coming up that we are helping sponsor on Saturday the 28th at the Orange Park Kennel Club, would you like to join us? Just a heads up, I think registration on the day of the show is $20. Should be a big show!
